SPF Moisturiser Vs Sunscreen?

Now the sunshine has arrived I want to lighten my skincare + make up routine in the mornings. I've recently tried both the Biore WE and Kiehl's Ultra Light sunscreen but I'm not 100% happy.

I'm leaning toward trying Clinique's CC cream SPF 30 to work as both moisturiser, light coverage and sunscreen. I will touch up with it during the day too for protection. I think this will be sufficient protection for the UK summer won't it?

It absolutely will not be enough protection, they are not comparable products. Wear a proper suncream!

I don't think enough is applied if it's a combined product. Have you tried Frezyderm velvet?

Ultrasun Face Spf 30 for sensitive skin is excellent. It has no scent at all and disappears quickly into the skin with no tackiness. I use it all year round.

The issue with makeup in moisturisers and makeup is that you still need around one quarter teaspoon of the product for your face to get the protection level on the bottle.

I honestly don't think it should be legal to advertise SPF in makeup products as foundations, BB and CC creams as we do not use enough to get the correct amount of protection. If you don't add enough, you don't get the SPF mentioned on the bottle - and there's no way we'd ever use that much each time. It would look absurd if we applied a quarter teaspoon foundation to our faces - it's just too much product.

I use Biore SPF50 Watery Gel which is nice, and then a light layer of foundation on top.
