What do you think of these shoes?

Are these trashy or glam?

I think you should seize the precious moments when an item of clothing that you like is both comfortable and fashionable.

MixedHerbs · 15/05/2018 16:20

I luffs em.
Wouldn't look out of place at my local theatre.
On Sing-a-Longa-Abba night.
Nowt wrong with that.
I luffs 'em.

BankHolidayYAS · 15/05/2018 16:28

the block heel puts me off them and i like a chunky heel, but not keen here!

lasttimeround · 15/05/2018 16:58

Outfit sounds great. To some extent i think its always about how the shoe goes with the outfit. The block heel updates the silver shoe imo. Im envisaging something really modern and clean looking.

penguinsnpandas · 15/05/2018 17:01

I think they are great.

HeyDolly · 15/05/2018 17:03

I don’t think they’re particularly trashy or glam. I like block heels but I think the glitter/sparkle does cheapen them a bit and as a PP said makes them look at bit ‘Strictly’ or cruise ship.

mistermagpie · 15/05/2018 17:06

I really hate them, I hate silver shoes and block heels though so I'm definitely not the target market for these!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 15/05/2018 17:55

On you they may look fabulous but I'm getting a pensioner on a cruise teamed with American tan tights vibe.

Mercurial123 · 15/05/2018 18:07

I wouldn't call them trashy but they definitely aren't glam. I hate the glitter heel.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 15/05/2018 18:27

If you're young and beautiful you can get away with wearing anything on your feet really and if they're a bit trashy or frumpy people will think you're being ironic.

If you're middle aged and have slightly thick ankles then No.

I don't know what goes on at Communion after parties. If you're milling about on grass eating canapes then the block heel is useful to prevent grass sinkage.

I think if I was wearing a very tight white dress I'd keep everything else understated including shoes.
I'm not a style expert though.

Racecardriver · 15/05/2018 18:29

Glam is trashy.

lynmilne65 · 15/05/2018 18:45
Confused
NeverTalksToStrangers · 15/05/2018 18:49

Nope. Don't like them. They look like 1995.

Mulberrysilk · 15/05/2018 19:00

Trashy, but in a good way.

Greenglassteacup · 15/05/2018 19:02

I think they look like they come from primark

12Etudes · 15/05/2018 19:10

I love block heels. And yes they’re so much easier to walk in! I don’t care if it reminds certain people of the 90’s, I was a child then so I never got to join in.😝 So that wouldn’t stop me. There’s only so many heel styles that can be invented for goodness sake, and they’ve all been used at some point.

Agree that young or beautiful you can basically wear most things. Having said that I usually find glittery shoes yuck but these look nice. Your outfit sounds lovely too. I doubt a lot of people could pull them off (hence some negative opinions) but it sounds like you can op so go for it.

halfwitpicker · 15/05/2018 19:14

I saw a woman running for the train this morning in something similar. She didn't make it

halfwitpicker · 15/05/2018 19:15

Trashy, but in a good way.

^^

How so, mulberry?

dontcallmelen · 15/05/2018 19:19

I don’t think they are trashy, but I’m another one who dislikes block heels, they just look clumpy.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 15/05/2018 20:34

I agree with a pp, they just need an American tan pair of tights to complete the dated cruise ship glamour look.

RJnomore1 · 15/05/2018 20:37

I love them, I love block heels, I love glitter, I love 1995.

makeupmaven · 15/05/2018 21:14

Honestly, the glitter is alright but the very shiny silver makes them look cheap.

Mulberrysilk · 15/05/2018 21:42

Trashy in a kitchy Abba kind of way. They're fun but they're not a serious shoe.

IwankaTramp · 15/05/2018 21:50

My Nan favoured a shimmer block heel for nights at the Irish social club.

Very Nan indeed. She loved her furs, chandelier earrings and rings on every finger too. All at once. If it is your thing, work it I say.

SayImADreamer · 15/05/2018 23:12

@Mulberrysilk
Luckily im not a serious person!

I think i can make it work with an understated dress
