OK, I have a facial mole, it is about an inch to the side of my mouth/nose.
I hate it, I always had it but it was flat? now it's like a pea. it doesn't have big black hairs, but all the same....
The dermatologist says she can remove it, there are 2 options,
1 they cut & remove it including below the skin, it will leave a fine scar but it will be in the crease where I smile
2 they "shave it flat, it will leave a whiter patch. I don't wear foundation.
3 leave it & accept I am getting old (Not in a hurry)
Anyone know anything about this ? thoughts ?

I had a mole removed as a teen. They cut it right out. It was on my jawline, near my chin. I can see a very slight pulling of the skin from the corner of my mouth to the scar, but the scar itself is practically invisible and I never wear makeup. It was growing hairs and massive and I have no regrets getting it removed.

I'd recommend having it removed. You don't have to live with it if you don't want to. Choose a time where you don't have any big events going on in your life as it will take time to heal.

Will they take a biopsy to test? I thought that was routine for any moles that change dramatically in size or shape?

I'm sure they will test it, although the dermatologist says its absolutely OK

If they shave it off there’s a chance it could grow back. This happened to me and I then had it removed properly but it wasn’t on my face. I’m not sure how common this is though. Both times it was tested and it was fine. I only had it removed because it sat right under my bra wire and was therefore constantly being rubbed.
