Is ombré and balayage not fashionable?

6 months ago I dyed my hair dark brown from light blonde. I miss the blond but quite like the brown- it’s healthier too. What would be in between colour for me?
Any pictures and advice on how easy to achieve or maintain? Will it just look like my blonde has grown out ? Thank you xx

I have balayage , it looks brown if I tie it up but blonde if I have it down . Easier to maintain because the re growth is sort of the style .

Mine has been ombred. I don't know if it's fashionable but I like it.

What’s the difference between highlights and balayage? I’m not up with these things.....

Namechange128 · 15/05/2018 07:37

Balayage still fashionable, ombre definitely a bit 2013 - but if you love it, you do you!

Bluntness100 · 15/05/2018 07:38

Namechange miaow 🤣

zippyswife · 15/05/2018 07:39

I prefer balayage. I got mine done recently. Really happy with it. Get lots for pics of what you like to show the hairdresser. Tonnes on Pinterest.

Namechange128 · 15/05/2018 07:40

@bluntness100 I didn't intend it that way, but reading back, see what you mean! Blush

I have naturally dark brown hair and have balayage so that some bits are very blonde. Have starting it high up like pig's photo and it will grow down and save you a few trips to the colourist too..

MyPuppyIsADick · 15/05/2018 07:47

I don’t know about fashionable but I have dark hair and blonde balayage and I like it OP.

I have balayage dark brown, a lighter brown caramel and blonde personally I think it's a more grown up looks than ombré. I had ombré years ago when I was early 20's.

pigpoglet · 15/05/2018 08:05

Highlights are done with fouls etc and are very exact . Balayage is free hand and lower and ombré is a two tone effect . Have a look on Pinterest .

Hey thank you for the pictures and advice everyone! It’s really helpful to see your pictures :) x

Balayage is still in.

Ombré seems to have had its day although root stretches still seem quite popular.

therockinggazelle · 15/05/2018 12:29

What's the difference between ballyage and over?

therockinggazelle · 15/05/2018 12:29

Ballyage and ombre *

LockedOutOfMN · 15/05/2018 12:51

Balayage is painting on the dye free form.

Ombré is where the colour starts part way down the length of the hair (like dip dye / two tone).
