Nude Tights? Or No Tights?

I'm in my fifties. Fair skin and with an aversion to fake tan. I'm going to a wedding in the summer and wearing a dress. I've just bought some matt nude tights. The actual first ones I've ever bought. Have I turned into the middle aged frump I always hoped I wouldn't be, or is this ok, oh wise ladies of Mumsnet?

I wear nudes. Evens out blotchy skin and I can't do fake tan.

That's good to hear Notapenguin. I don't know why I'm struggling with it. They definitely look better on me than bare legs. I think it's a hang over from my youth when only middle aged mums wore them.

I think they're fine, some of them you can hardly tell you've got tight on anyway. As long as you've got closed toe shoes or the tights where your toes stick out.

I wear them on cooler summer days, though I hesitated for similar reasons. Also not a user of fake tan.

You could try nude micronets - I wear these to work in the summer and I feel they are a little more 'edgy'.

I wear nudes when I can't be bothered to shave! I'm 30. I don't think it's a sign you're a frump at all. I even wear pop socks in summer which I get a lot of stick for but hey, they keep my feet happy.

i've got to wear a dress soon too and want to wear nudes but have open toe shoes - this is a NO NO right?

I feel the same. I look much better in tights but always hesitate about nudes. There's something about them which seems a bit dated. I still wear them though.
