Problem skin on chest & upper back

I'm looking for advice on how to treat the skin on my chest and upper back.
I get so many blackheads on the skin on my chest and really painful angry red spots on my upper back (I had acne on my back in late teens, these don't seem like acne but still angry).

What is the best way to get rid of blackheads? I'm resisting the urge to squeeze them but they are driving me mad. What can I do for the skin on my upper back?
Current skin care is soap and long handled scrubbing brush on back; I tend to use facial cleanser and moisturiser on my chest (when I remember!) otherwise gentle shower gel and body moisturiser.

I get a few spots on my back too and really annoys me this time of year when I want to wear tops and dresses that show the top of my back off. I pinch my dd's cream she has prescribed from the doc, it's called Duac and is benzoyl peroxide/antibiotic cream in one, it really does help! Need to put it on at night and wear some old pj's as can stain clothes. I brought a tea tree back spray from Boots but I can't say it helps unfortunately. A good body scrub and then this cream afterwards really works. If wanting to just buy over the counter then Acnecide 5% gel works well too.

I used to get the same and the only thing that worked for me was getting older.

Have you tried antibacterial soap and making sure that your back scrubber is thoroughly cleaned after each use? Think it also helps to use a new towel for drying as well.
