I'm going to a wedding in June, I have this lovely dress. Wearing with silver sandals. What jacket/cover up would look good with it?
Thanks in advance

Pale silver stole? Or an emerald green pash mina?

BrightonCalling · 14/05/2018 13:06

Id actually wear it with a denim jacket

LolaTheDarkdestroyer · 14/05/2018 13:08

Sorry but I wouldn't wear it,it looks too much like a bridesmaid dress even a wedding dress, o know that was t the question but hey ho

Ohyesiam · 14/05/2018 13:11

Like Brighton calling is go for a denim jacket, but not for a wedding.

A jacket would have to be very cropped and neat, and a similar texture fabric to the dress.

I’d probably go with a gauzy wrap.

BrightonCalling · 14/05/2018 13:13

@LolaTheDarkdestroyer
I also dont like the dress, sorry!

Orchidflower1 · 14/05/2018 13:13

I think I’d go for a wrap too - jack may be a bit much. Maybe ivory or a silvery grey and a silver / vintage handbag . I saw one in monsoon- I’ll try and find a link .

TheTroutofNoCraic · 14/05/2018 13:15

Thanks! I was thinking along those lines, @halfwitpicker

@BrightonCalling I'll try it on with a denim jacket and see how it looks.

@LolaTheDarkdestroyer Fair enough :)

If you can find a leather bolero or very fitted cropped leather jacket i think that would rough it up a little

TheTroutofNoCraic · 14/05/2018 13:21

BrightonCalling I do have a wee cropped leather biker jacket somewhere, thanks!

Having looked at some wraps quickly now I think it depends on the look you’re going for and how formal the wedding.
Wrap is more formal, as pp soft leather jacket will be a bit funkier but I think denim is too casual for a wedding and will detract from the dress too much. Dress is lovely - forgot to put that as too busy bag shopping! Your bag sounds fab.

BrightonCalling · 14/05/2018 13:23

Something like this (maje)

What jacket with this dress?
tarheelbaby · 14/05/2018 13:24

A knitted shrug, bolero or pashmina or even a cropped cardigan but in a strong colour to show clearly that I was not part of the wedding party - check with bride about whether there's a theme colour so you can avoid that.

BigFatBloomers · 14/05/2018 14:36

I agree with tarheelbaby that a bright colour would make it look less bridal party.

Something like this cropped, silk and cotton cardigan would look good, especially with matching lipstick.
