Eyelash curler!

After changing my mind about eyelash extensions, I'm on the hunt for a decent Lash curler! Previously used Boot's own which was pretty good but they changed it & the new one isn't that great!

So what's really great? if it's bloody fantastic, I could justify spending like £10-£15 or if it's good under a tenner! Or are they all about as average as each other & im not really going to get a wow factor with them?

I just spent a lot of money on boots on one by tweezerman. Its not good. Avoid.

useruserbored · 14/05/2018 11:05

Sorry are you using it on natural lashes or extensions?

youvegottobekidding · 14/05/2018 11:13

Natural lashes.

Eyeko - I too had Ye Olde Boots one and when it died spent £££ trying to find a decent one.

No brainer then shu umera.....not cheap but best on market x

HeyMacWey · 14/05/2018 11:40

Have you thought about an lvl lash lift?

Lasts for 6-8 weeks. No need to curl whilst you've had it done.

Susimoo · 14/05/2018 12:57

A second vote for Shu Uemura. Best I've ever used.

ThatKitKatCrunch · 14/05/2018 13:01

Kevyn Aucoin. I dunno WHY it's better than the others I've tried, it looks the same... but it just is for me.

EarlyBird39 · 14/05/2018 13:03

Another vote for shu uemura. It's worth every penny. I've been using it for 10 years, tried other cheaper ones along the way and none has ever come close to be as good. Go for it, you won't regret!

Ohyesiam · 14/05/2018 13:05

Had a pricey shu umera one for a while. One day I couldn’t find it so knocked dd’s£1 one from primark. It was even better.
Rose gold too.

youvegottobekidding · 14/05/2018 13:53

Are these the Shu Umera ones?

That price seems too good be true, aren't they normally around £20? I'm tempted but worried they're fake.

Cecily75 · 14/05/2018 17:27

I love my Shu Uemera curlers - but I thought they'd stopped selling in the UK a while ago? Here, Sali Hughes recommends Kevin Aucoin or Shiseido ones as an alternative.

If those are authentic, then they're a bargain!

HeyMacWey, yeah, I googled lvl Lash lift & thought of that as well as a last tint. Truth is, and although I will not tell him, I think DH is right - I was only thinking of getting eyelash extensions for our holiday, never had them before, just wanted to try them for that extra 'glam' (although I'm not really glam!) for the holiday but he said 'oh to be honest, you may not like them or find them comfortable, you could have a reaction or anything, then you wouldn't enjoy your holiday, if I were you I wouldn't get something done like this before a holiday, especially as you haven't had them before'. The more I think about it the more I think he's right. It's family holiday with the kids, I'll be spending most of the time in & out of the pool, on the beach & farting about! I've never even got on with false eyelashes - I just can not apply them! I'm totally cack-handed & to be honest the one time I did get them on, they felt awful!

Anyway, I too thought the Shu Umera ones might not be genuine if they are that cheap so I waited until I could get to TK Maxx this evening & got this:

It's actually really good. Of course it doesn't give the false eyelash look, but I'm pretty pleased with it for £8. The mascara is really nice too, never heard of the brand before.
