Spf 30/50 for under make up

Is there a spf 30 or 50 that i can wear under make up and doesn't cost the earth? Ideally matte as I have pilot chin and nose. I only have around £10 to spend

I use the cheap sensitive spf 50 from Aldi, and then use powder over my make up. But most people wrinkle their nose at such a suggestion, so feel free to ignore and spend £££ on la Roche Possay (had that last year and was more claggy than the Aldi stuff) or Biore watery essence which the better-informed will no doubt recommend Grin

For that price I would go biore watery essence, biore perfect bright milk or one of these, usually cheapest via eBay

For £16 then Frezyderm via chemist direct or eBay

Body Shop Vitamin E Emulsion is spf30 and very light/non-greasy. About £10 and a little goes a long way, and I find it a brilliant base for under my Estee Lauder foundation.

TantricTwist · 14/05/2018 10:21

As you have oily skin and want your makeup to stay on then I can highly recommend LRP antiohelios ac matt fluide, it does leave a white cast but thats fine if youre wearing makeup over the top anyway.

Biore Watery Essence is excellent, doesn't leave a residue of any kind. It's incredibly light and makes a great base for foundation.

Biore Perfect Bright Milk is also excellent, very mattifying (can use it in place of a primer) but does leave a bit of a white caste.

I find Solait Face Sun Cream SPF50 good, and a better primer than the primer I was using before!

trigger2 · 14/05/2018 19:57

I’ve found a watery one that works really well with no residue at all.

You can also find it on amazon

Logoplanter · 14/05/2018 20:50

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but I like Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Face SPF 30. I think it's £6 on Amazon on prime or superdrug sells it.

I don't really wear makeup but it states it's good for under makeup and the few times I've put makeup on top I've not had any problems.

MissMarplesKnitting · 14/05/2018 20:52

Etude House sunprise mild airy finish spf50.

It's amazing. Got the recommendation from here, so thank you!

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 14/05/2018 20:54

If you could stretch the £10 a bit Clinique Cityblock is great, and also functions as a primer (or light make up), and is oil free.

NutButterNutter · 14/05/2018 21:06

Glossier invisible shield is a great base for make up. I can go without foundation on a good skin day and that's a big thing for my crappy dull skin.

haverhill · 14/05/2018 21:07

Clinique City Block is fab. I’ve used it for years.

I can vouch for Altruist as pp linked to above.
I have rosacea and the merest hint of sunlight
brings me out in awful acne like pustules.
Started using this suncream earlier this year and
it's worked great for me so far.

La Roche posay anthelios is really good. Might be slightly more than £10 but mine lasts ages

LilySwamp · 14/05/2018 21:13

Meant to say - it's shiny though so you'd need face powder on top.

rubybleu · 15/05/2018 11:11

I’ve also just started using Altruist and it’s fantastic. It’s very cheap (£4 for 200mL) so I had very low expectations but it’s honestly the best I’ve tried. One of the least sticky cream sunscreens I’ve tried - much less sticky than Anthelios.

I have extremely dry, flaky skin and it dries matte on me (over serums and moisturiser). I Iet it sit for a few minutes then use a bit of primer on top and my foundation sits perfectly all day.
