Suitcase recommendations

DS and I go on holiday for a week in July and I need new cases for us both. I’m not sure how large to go since it’s only a week, and I’ll not be going anywhere for longer than that for the foreseeable. Can get away with medium for him, but I’ll need space more toiletries, hairdryer, etc.

I don’t want to splurge as I won’t get loads of use out of them. Only once a year, maybe not even next year.

Amy recommendations?

TK Maxx has lots of affordable suitcases

What's your weight limit for the flights?

I have a large suitcase and I can't fill it to capacity otherwise I'm over the 23kg limit for BA etc. We're flying Thomson this year with a stingy 20kg limit, and I've had to buy a medium suitcase (and ones for the kids as well).

I saw some nice ones in Costco , so might be worth looking if you have a card or know someone who does.

Dont get one that opens in the middle, get one that has a "lid" as opposed to 2 equal halves.

Thanks will check these suggestions out. Think my limit is 20k.

So should I get a hard shell?

I wouldn’t advise on a hard shell one we’ve had ours smashed to smithereens and had to purchase new ones to travel home with. They weren’t cheap either

Glitteryfrog · 14/05/2018 18:17

Tripp from debenhams

We have medium ones, can't get more than 20kg in them. Agree with onemouseplace, if you get large ones, you won't be able to fill them anyway.

Ours are black 'cloth' Samsonites, don't get the hard shell ones, they just eat into your luggage allowance.
