gustofwindd · 10/05/2018 21:29

There's a load of different birkenstock ranges now and they're super in

userxx · 10/05/2018 21:30

😈 I wasn't much help was I !! My friend swears by Clarke's, she has wide feet with bunions.

pinkhorse · 10/05/2018 21:30

The link doesn't work!

Justmuddlingalong · 10/05/2018 21:34

these ones 🤢

Ummmmgogo · 10/05/2018 21:36

they are more hipster than old lady imo, but I'm not young or stylish 😂

Jungfraujoch · 10/05/2018 21:38

These?

Or do I need help?!!! 😄

I'm 68 and I wouldn't wear them.
Hipster maybe.

Justmuddlingalong · 10/05/2018 21:41

Confused I understand you have a bunion. But please, don't use it as a fashion statement. Those cut out styles highlight foot problems IMO.

PandaPieForTea · 10/05/2018 21:44

Have you tried Strive sandals - I don’t think they are all old lady styles and are really comfortable.

picklemepopcorn · 10/05/2018 21:46

The clarks ones look better in white...

Quoll · 10/05/2018 21:46

I can only wear wide fit thanks to my giant hooves and find saltwater sandals really comfortable and not grannyish (I hope).

Sadsnake · 10/05/2018 21:46

I got some dr martens sandles last yr,thick sole ,roomy and made by dr martens😀

Aridane · 10/05/2018 21:48

OP - a lone voice here saying I liked the black version In the first link you posted. Liked the chunky white sole

Isleepinahedgefund · 10/05/2018 21:49

HELL yeah. Old lady to the max.

Jungfraujoch · 10/05/2018 21:49

Ariadne thank you!!! I do like the chunky sole.

Lalliella · 10/05/2018 21:50

Why do you care, if you like them? What does it matter what anyone else thinks?

WindDoesNotBreakTheBendyTree · 10/05/2018 21:51

No Ariadne I agree!

Technically they are deffo old old lady sandals. But somehow the white sole makes them ok. It isn't what you wear its the way that you wear it and all that.
what's the rest of your style like?
Except those clarks ones are really horrid. Don't go there.

Jungfraujoch · 10/05/2018 21:52

Lalliella DH called them granny sandals so wanted a second opinion!!

Justmuddlingalong · 10/05/2018 21:52

Have we to stop looking now, then?

PersonAtHome · 10/05/2018 21:52

To me they don't look old ladyish at all! But then I am 46. But I have a distinct idea of 'old lady' shoes in my mind (MIL wears them) and the ones you posted don't fit the bill. If anything they look like shoes my colleagues in their 20s wear.

Jungfraujoch · 10/05/2018 21:55

Person, I’m a young 55, in my head I thought I could see Trinny in them! Anyway, thanks all for comments and suggestions - I’ll have a look at the other brands mentioned.

NorthernKnickers · 10/05/2018 22:01

I'm 54 and wouldn't be seen dead in any of these 😳 They are just awful....my DCs would completely disown me if I even thought about wearing anything like this! (Sorry OP!!)

Jungfraujoch · 10/05/2018 22:02

I’ll get me coat 😄
