That's it in a nutshell. Like Converse but comfortable, basically. Help!

Pumps don’t have good support, full stop. I’d go for loafers, or there’s a lot of trainers in right now which are trendier than wearing pumps.

NetVolume · 10/05/2018 18:58

What about flossy shoes? Not really built to last but are incredibly comfortable.

MrsArthurShappey · 10/05/2018 19:30

Not keen on the flossy shoes, soz net

petite I have been thinking that. I really like New Balance 574s so may go for those. Was hoping for something a bit more summery if that makes sense.

What about Keds? They do extended sizes/fit in some styles. They have thicker sole and arch support generally

BikeRunSki · 10/05/2018 19:54

YY to Keen. Superb quality too.0

Oldraver · 10/05/2018 20:13

Superga are very generous in the width. I got some flowery ones last year from TK Maxx, though their own website also has an outlet section

Cobrider · 10/05/2018 20:16

I second Ash, my feet are quite wide, also Kurt Geiger I have found to be really comfortable.

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 10/05/2018 20:27

I have practically square feet (also high insteps) and find German brands fit well. I bought these Mustang shoes mainly because they were cheap but they are sort of similar to Converse and surprisingly comfy https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00C68FBS0/ref=cmswwrcpptaiii_lYj9AbTS9BZE2. [[

MrsArthurShappey · 10/05/2018 20:52

Wow, some of those Ash trainers are hilarious! They’re a bit pricey too!

Do you mean daps?

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 10/05/2018 22:49

Clarks Tri range are super comfy (definitely wide fitting) and come in a real range of styles.

ShortyShortLegs · 11/05/2018 00:05

These are really comfy! I bought some after toe surgery and they feel great. I've got wide feet and they fit beautifully. And they are so soft and comfortable on the insides, the memory foam has not squashed down at all. I got the jewel ones and a plain black pair too.

MrsArthurShappey · 11/05/2018 12:58

goose YES I do mean daps!! That's what I really wanted to say, but thought that would confuse even more people.

MrsArthurShappey · 11/05/2018 12:59

Blimey they're a bargain shorty.

Thanks again folks.

I got a super cheap pair of Converse rip off Dunlop ones from Sports Direct last year and they are bloody fab! I am also the owner of ridiculously wide feet so the fit of them is good.

Fresta · 11/05/2018 13:15

I think Rocketdog just have an insole similar to most sneakers- cotton lining with slightly padded/spongy underfoot. Depends what you mean by supportive- if you mean like a shaped and moulded footbed like a birkenstock then probably not. I like shoes with a flat insole though- it makes your feet work harder and strengthens your arch- better for feet than lots of arch support in my opinion.

MrsArthurShappey · 11/05/2018 14:06

That's a good point fresta. I think I'll get some Rocket Dogs as I love that style (I sent a picture to my best friend and she said they were me in trainer form Grin), and see how I go. The width is more important than the support, really.

Fit flop are really wide.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 11/05/2018 14:34

Don't know if these have been suggested yet OP -

M&M Direct are great for discounted Rocket Dogs. I have wide feet and bunions and I live in these all summer. I’ve also got SuperGas and they also fit really well, easily wide enough.
