Concealer recommendations - high coverage and very fair

Please can you recommend me a good concealer!

I have been using Boots 17 stay time in extra fair, however Boots are discontinuing 17 and I need to find a new one.

It needs to be high coverage to cover my mega dark under eyes
As pale as they come
None of that reflective stuff e.g. touche eclat which has zero coverage

Thanks in advance!

Collection lasting perfection is the best concealer I’ve used but still doesn’t really cover the bags. I read an article recently about using red lipstick as a base before applying concealer but I don’t own a red lipstick so haven’t tried it yet! Has anyone else heard of this?

UserThenLotsOfNumbers · 09/05/2018 17:23

Thank you, will look for that one.
I tried the Rimmel one that's similar to the 17 one (can't remember name, lasting perfection?) and it's good but doesn't last.

Make up Revolution conceal & define is really good and has a good shade range. Collenction lasting perfection is really good coverage but I prefer the make up Revolution one as my skin is quite dry and it sits better.
RockingMYFifties I have a salmon pink coloured ender eye corrector you put on under concealer it does help a little I think anyway

mercurymaze · 09/05/2018 17:29

Bobbi Brown corrector is good

The Balm "Time Balm" concealer is high coverage. I'm also very pale, and their shade "lighter than light" suits me well. I find it's great under the eyes to cover dark circles without settling into wrinkles, but not so much on other areas I'd use concealer as it's quite pigmented.

Bit pricey (by my standards!) at about £15, but it lasts an age!

Barry M did very well in a recent magazine article, I purchased and it has good coverage and comes in several light shades.

Thanks so much for all your suggestions! I will look all these up.

I like Illamasqua
Most of my make up is now Illamasqua, it's not cheap but I find it much better than other premium brands. I always use their primer first and my make up doesn't budge.

Have you looked on line? The 17 range is still available to order and you can click and collect at boots for free. I ordered a load of the concealer I use from there, so might be worth a look to see if yours is still in stock in line.

starkid · 10/05/2018 14:29

I use Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer under my eyes :)

NerdyBird · 10/05/2018 15:47

The Collection concealer is good and they have brought out extra fair as a new shade.

Tarte Shape Tape

Thanks for suggestions all.
Managed to get hold of a load of 17 concealer online to keep me going whilst I try out the alternatives!

Boots have introduced a new brand into the store, which I'd imagine is a revamped, renamed No17, if I were you I'd take a look at the range and I bet you'll find it there!

UserThenLotsOfNumbers · 13/05/2018 17:25

I have Buster - as predicated the concealer is far too dark, even the light one! Sad

I recommend Nars creamy concealer and MAC pro longwear on the more pricey side and the Collection one as a cheaper side.

I’ve recently been using the make up revolution one and it sinks really badly into the lines under my eyes and makes me look haggard. I’m only 26! I will be throwing away and do not recommend.

Misty9 · 13/05/2018 17:39

I've just bought the body shop bb cream in the lightest shade and am very impressed. It comes out white but blends to your skin tone and the coverage was good without being too heavy or drying. Even dh noticed the difference Grin

BusterGonad · 13/05/2018 17:49

That's surprising User. Benefits shade No1 is fair and they do various coverages too.

UserThenLotsOfNumbers · 13/05/2018 17:58

Buster - yeah I know Sad they do a "fair" but not an "extra fair" shade in the new range.
Will check out the benefit one - thanks!

Kevyn aucoin sensual skin. Comes in a little pot and has jojoba oil in so doesn’t dry out. Soooo much pigment in it. Tiniest amount gives so much coverage.

Expensive but the pot will last you forever.

OrangeJam · 13/05/2018 18:23

Clinique all about eyes concealer.

Very full coverage and stays put all day. Doesn't go cakey or fall in to lines. I couldn't do without it!

BusterGonad · 13/05/2018 18:37

I have Benefit boi-ing hydrating which I set with some powder (Benefit dandelion) and I have Boi-ing brightening which I don't set. Both are very creamy as I have very dry eyes, but they do a Boi-ing industrial strength one which I think is very much like No17 pwoor paint! It's too heavy for me as I like a brightening soft look but it could be great for you.
