I have my JL Lola sandals. JL has felt the need to update them and now they're awful. Alas my old Lola's are falling apart but I want something similar. Old Lola on the right new awful Lola on the left. Please help me find an old Lola doppelgänger.

Old Lola looks lovely, what a shame.

MaiaRindell · 09/05/2018 16:42

The new ones are lovely!

Baylis · 09/05/2018 16:44

I prefer the new ones! Smile

Peanutbuttercups21 · 09/05/2018 16:46

The new ones are cheaper made: the bit of leather at the front is in the wrong place! Makes them uncomfy

IMO Moda in Pelle do good sandals

Bombardier25966 · 09/05/2018 16:46

Another vote for new Lola.

Old Lola do look, well, old.

Shelvesoutofbooks · 09/05/2018 16:47

I think both are ugly Confused

WindyWednesday · 09/05/2018 16:51

New Lola looks like the M&S version.

Greenglassteacup · 09/05/2018 16:54

I like neither of the Lolas & I am usually a fugly sandal fan ( got salt waters on today)

ScurfyTwiglet · 09/05/2018 16:54

I agree OP. New Lola look cheaply made, whereas the old ones look classy and comfy. The newcriss-cross straps don't taper nicely down the length of the foot like the old ones do, they are the wrong shape and they are baggy around the foot, and they look like they would rub after wearing them for any length of time. The colour is nowhere near as nice either.

KingTot · 09/05/2018 16:55

New Lola doesn't even have a proper bloody buckle! It took me five minutes of twisting and grunting to get the sodding thing on (much to my toddlers amusement!). It's just a stretchy strap that you know will go slack after the first month.

Now I'll give you Lola 1 wasn't winning beauty prizes but they were sensible and hard wearing and not awful looking. I need to be able to run (see aforementioned toddler) in my sandals. I hate anything but the smallest of heel. I want brown leather sandals that will go with most everything. Old Lola is on her last legs and isn't going to see me through the summer.

I prefer old Lola. That said, if you're looking for low/no heel sandals can I recommend Moshulu? They do lots of lovely sandals with little or no heel and are very reasonable.

(Not affiliated with them, just a fan - especially of their slippers!) Smile

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 09/05/2018 17:44

Another vote for New Lola. The old ones look past it. Sorry.

KingTot · 09/05/2018 19:00

Old Lola's are dead. I meant to replace last year but waiting too long into the season and they were sold out. New Lolas are too ugly and cheap. I need option 3. The Moshululus look promising. I have saltwaters (clearly not averse to ugly sandals) but don't want two pairs of SW as I don't find them that comfy.

Clark’s maybe, sometimes they have some nice leather sandals.

GrannyGrissle · 10/05/2018 14:25

Try ebay for old Lola stock?

LunaTheCat · 10/05/2018 18:21

?birkenstocks

TheNoseyProject · 10/05/2018 18:23

Hush puppies normally do simple brown flat leather sandals

SleepingInYourFlowerbed · 10/05/2018 18:31

Old Lola is significantly better looking even though they are old. You can tell the design is much better.

Have you looked at Zalando online? They have a big range so might have something. Returns are free too.
