We are going away in just over 6 weeks and I need help with what to wear, this is the first foreign holiday with DD, we have always holidayed in the UK with her before so haven't really needed much beachwear but it will be hot where we are going...I have 3 swimming costumes, all with tummy control and I am desperately exercising & trying to lose weight but I really don't know if I just go all maxi dresses and kaftans or...what??? I don't know what suits me anymore and am having a total crisis of confidence, I am much more comfortable in a pair of jeans and long tunic top....

Linen dresses from Next. Really comfy and come in lots of colours

alwaysthepessimist · 09/05/2018 16:15

@playmobilpirate - thanks - I have actually just received 2 linen blend dresses from next with pockets in them - www.next.co.uk/g89104s4#569806

This one (hopefully the link works) - I figured I can always wear white short leggings under them too - I do like them but I still don't know if they suit me :(

Nice 👍🏻

alwaysthepessimist · 09/05/2018 16:26

Thanks @letsdolunch321 - I reckon I need a few more outfits then I can recycle them through the holiday

Do you need cotton shorts under dresses to stop chafing? M&S and Primark do them.
TkMaxx can be good for linen.
A good pair of sunglasses, pedicure and comfortable sandals are key IMO.

letsdolunch321 · 09/05/2018 17:52

Yes @always that is what I do take a weeks worth of dresses for evenings out then recycle

unintentionalthreadkiller · 09/05/2018 18:11

Love that dress - I'm off to order he giraffe one! ThanksSmile

I'm exactly the same measurements and shape as you. Asda George have lovely midi length dresses that are great for those of us not tall, and really stretchy black and blue shorts in a light denim material which I've found to be just the right length on me.
I bought them and also some cotton sleeveless tops from Mango Violeta outlet online. (A 16 is a medium in that range Wink )

Bejazzled · 09/05/2018 18:43

tanksuits

Also bought 2 of these

alwaysthepessimist · 10/05/2018 09:32

oh @bejazzled I love those will definitely get one of those ordered!

I have 3 pairs of sandals, plain and glitzy and some pool sliders, can't believe I am having a crisis of confidence at 47!

The dresses are lovely.
I personally would pass on the maxi dresses.
Or just take one in case legs get a bit burnt as it will probe hot.

alwaysthepessimist · 10/05/2018 11:28

ok thanks @dowser, I have 2 that I have bought on sale so they were really cheap and I also have some floaty trousers to take with me too
