how to stop shoes rubbing

I must be a really delicate flower as I find every pair of shoes rub me. They may be comfortable for ages then all of a sudden as soon as I get hot, they rub. Don't won't to wear socks with sandals, is there any thing that you've used and it works?

Compeed blister plasters or the compeed balm in a stick.

I have this problem too OP and find two solutions: Compeed as pp said (have some in every handbag!) and Geox trainers which are the ONLY shoes I can wear sockless without the slightest hint of rubbing even after 1-2 hours walking in warm weather.

Oh and I also look for sandals that have elastic straps rather than leather/plastic/suded iyswim. I do have ONE pair of sandals I can also wear without rubbing but they have thick elastic straps which don't cut into my feet.

I have given up on all other sandals (but if I DO wear any of my old sandals, I try to only wear ones that have the minimum straps possible so less chance of rubbing, and I take Compeed with me when I wear them).

I have NO idea how people manage to walk for seemingly miles in strappy sandals without getting their feet cut to pieces. But apparently some people do just that!

If it’s stitching that rubs, then sticking microphone tape over the stitches sorts it. I only discovered this last year and I wish I’d found it it a lot sooner!

I recently bought some Profoot Moleskin comfort padding and my DD's say it is much better than plasters for breaking in shoes (DM's)that rub them.

Moleskin is magic but no one in any pharmacy I visited had ever heard of it and looked at me like maybe I was asking for (1) a pair of trousers or (2) the actual skin of moles. Had to buy it online.

Runners put vaseline or anti-chafing stuff on their feet to stop rubbing. Maybe give that a try?

How are you making compeed plasters stick? I have tried over and over again, followed the instructions. Tried putting on when goot cool and dry etc. As soon as my feet sweat the compeed slides off.

OP, I'm with you. I can't even contemplate wearing a shoe without socks or tights. I don't know how people can do it. I could start a pharmacy with products I've bought that other people swear by, and not one works. I really need it to be stylish to wear socks with sandles

Compeed balm is brilliant. Seems pricey but lasts for ages

I strategically place plasters on the rubbing points.
I have been know to give up on holiday and wear socks though, there always seems to be so much walking, I can't the stand soreness any longer.

Dasco Angel Feet is your answer, spray on and no rubbing or blisters

Satin Touch foot spray. You can get it in most shoe shops, and it's essentially a barrier that dries to a sort of invisible talc finish that reduces friction and sweating.

I have this problem but its always little toes, and the top of my big toe, it's almost like my nail is too long (it is cut short often, so it's not that) or curls up too much. I HATE finding new shoes.

Apart from my Berghaus walking boots I have never bought new shoes or sandals without getting blisters I must get shares in Compeed
I'm now 64, and am getting pretty fed up with it, it makes no difference whether I buy expensive or cheap footwear, get measured in store or buy online.

Omg I thought I was the only one with pathetic feet. I have almost given up with sandals resorting to ugly sketchers that make me look like one of the golden girls.

Oh god. The comfort that is a pair of sketchers go walk. Although, those gave me blisters at the back to begin with too.

Vaseline is worth a go, I use it with sandals etc in summer after a friend suggested it a few years ago.

Me too. I have very narrow feet so usually get rubbing.
My friend told me to rub some soap scum onto leather shoes to prevent blisters. She said the army do it on their boots.
I have no idea if it works. I haven’t tried it out.

Baby Powder or the Lush dusting powders can really help to reduce rubbing if you haven't tried already

I have been wearing vanity shoes this week, ones that look good but murder on the feet. I wore beige Skechers today. I did look like one of the Golden Girls but I did not care.

Liquid soap's the answer!

If you rub it on the bits of the shoe that rub or you think will rub, then just leave it. I always do this and never have a problem with rubbing.
