Work Trousers help

So this 40 year old dragon with a new job Grinneeds your wisdom for work trousers.
I'm 5'5"- wear 30 or 31 inch length. I'm a size 16 (sometimes 18 depending on brand) I have very chunky thighs!! (Next is a no no)
So what is smart, comfortable and stylish that will fit and flatter me? I never buy trousers as I haven't got a clue, but I can't continue with my daily 'uniform' of black skinny jeggings.
Budget is £20-50 a pair though I'll push the boat out for the holy grail

Asos do lovely pull on cropped ankle trousers, which are sooooo flattering and comfy. They look excellent with brogues or loafers and go with just about everything. I wear them constantly!

Here’s one example, but they have lots of different ones.

Sorry, I meant: www.mandco.com/women/trousers-and-leggings/smart-trousers/

I get most of my bogstandard work trousers from here. It helps that the store is across the road from my office.

Thanks for the suggestions

I like the look of the Asos ones for summer

M&S everywhere trousers

Monki do a range of trousers, quite cheap, and I love uniqlo easy care ankle trousers they have an elasticated waist but you'd need the biggest size as it's small fitting in there !

SequinsOnEverything · 08/05/2018 21:35

I got some from new look last week that are like smart jogging bottoms. I know that sounds terrible, but I love them. Already worn them to work twice. They aren't jogging bottom material.

They do not look good here, but I swear they are actually nice!

I seem to get all my work trousers from Sainsburys these days. I have have pockets and they usually have a good sale rail.

Furball · 08/05/2018 21:50

These are good - they also do them in Navy and black

direct.asda.com/george/women/trousers/woven-trousers/G005996555,default,pd.html#choice:colour and for 12 quid a right bargain

Try M&S as have loads of different styles starting at under £20. You can order online so I would order a few different ones you like the look of and go from there.
