How do you rate Clinique?

Your opinion?

I like their makeup remover balm so am considering adding other products.

What are the differences between their various moisturisers, what do you use?

I’ve heard good things about the cleansing balm but I haven’t tried it myself.

I did try the moisture surge gel cream which was nice, but I found neutrogena hydroboost gel cream very similar at a lower price.

Now my skin is becoming more sensitive and dry and I find other products (cheaper too) much better for me. Why don’t you ask at a counter to see if they could give you some samples to try ?

StorminaBcup · 08/05/2018 12:25

I like their eye cream (all about eyes) but I find their moisturiser to rich for my skin.

tierraJ · 08/05/2018 12:27

I use their products a lot.

The smart repair serum is really good, I follow it with the Superdefense spf 20 oily to oily combination cream.

I also use their oil free foundation in places, I like the colour pop lipsticks & I always use the superfine eyebrow liner in soft blonde!

tierraJ · 08/05/2018 12:28

Forgot, I also use their primer & their pressed powder.

GreyHare · 08/05/2018 12:43

I think Clinique is one of those things that you either love or hate, I love it and have tried other things but always come back to it, I use their 3 step (but only use two of them, the anti blemish face wash and anti blemish clarifying lotion) programme, I love Pep-Start HydroBlur moisturiser, I also love their Almost Powder Foundation, their BB cream, Black Honey Lipstick and the Superfine liner for Brows, and their Take the Day Off wipes remove every trace of make up with a quick swoosh of an evening.

MinesaPinot · 08/05/2018 13:41

I like the Take the Day off Cleansing Balm, Make up Remover for Lids and Lips and also the cleansing wipes. City Block, which has been a staple of mine for years, and All about Eyes (but not the rich one).

I also repurchase High Impact Mascara, Beyond Perfecting Foundation and High Impact lipstick.

FashionistaMoi · 08/05/2018 14:31

I loved it but am not so sure now.
I used to spend a lot on their face creams but found Olay Regenerist 3 Point as good and half the price on Amazon.
I used to love their foundations but they stopped making pale enough shades in most of them.
I have the TTDO and like it.

I think they are fine for eye pencils, lip pencils and their Pop lippies, but their blusher range is limited,.

I have used City Block for over 20 years but found out recently that the spf 40 is not all mineral, so that's put me off a bit.

FashionistaMoi · 08/05/2018 14:32

Oh and I bought the HydroBlur prep start and think it's one of the worst products ever. It's really a prep and if you have normal-dry skin it makes your skin very matte. It makes my slightly satiny foundation very matte which I don't like. I feel it was a waste of money.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 08/05/2018 14:47

I must have gone through gallons of their Moisture Surge.

Also use the Quickliner for Eyes and bought a foundation, which is OK, because the had the nicest ever SA who tried millions of shades on me and really made an effort.

I used to love their lipsticks, but have not bought any for years now.

RallyAnnie · 08/05/2018 15:16

I love Clinique. Have used dramatically different moisturiser on my face for years. It's the only thing I can use if I have the slightest reaction to anything else or even heat rash. Have tried cheaper products but keep coming back to it.

SpanxOnLetsGo · 08/05/2018 16:36

I like Moisture Surge, but not enough to pay the price for it (I use Aldi Lacura Caviar Cream for similar ‘plumped up’ effect). Similarly, I really like TTDO, but the Bodyshop Cammokile Cleansing bitter is half the price and just as good.

The chubby stick lip colours are good, but my absolute Clinique favourite product is the fake tan. I’ve been using it for 20 years and love it. I panic when I run low on it, in fact, and live in constant fear of it being discontinued.

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 08/05/2018 16:39

I love their foundation and eye make up. I’m allergic to other brands.

I use Neals yard rose as a cleanser though and some green brand from HAndB as a moisturiser. But Clinique make up to me is the best by a million miles

BrightonCalling · 08/05/2018 16:41

Whats the difference between dramatically different and moisture surge? Should i get both?

OP posts:
ChardonnaysPrettySister · 08/05/2018 16:46

Depends on your skin.

MS is just that, I use it under moisturiser but I have very dry and dehydrated skin.

You might not need it.

halfwitpicker · 08/05/2018 16:46

I think they're pretty good.

I have the yellow moisturizer and the yellow soap. Soap lasts for ever.

mumsbuns · 08/05/2018 16:53

Could never understand the fuss about it - I've got fairly sensitive skin and have never gotten on with any of their stuff - used to love the perfume "wrapping stuff" when I was a teenager....

TheFlannelsAreBreeding · 08/05/2018 16:54

I love their roll-on antiperspirant deodorant - anything else gives me itchy armpits, which is no fun at all...

MarthasGinYard · 08/05/2018 16:56

Love the pep start hydra blur moisturiser it's a primer too

Have used 7 day scrub for 20 years plus. My absolute fave

MarthasGinYard · 08/05/2018 16:59

M surge

Great as a drink for your skin I always keep a pot in

Dram diff I've never taken too or any of the more astringent stuff

Thebluedog · 08/05/2018 19:25

I found it was lovely for my skin in my 20s but as my skin became older I found it wasn’t up to the job so I switched to Estée Lauder

ProudPearlClutcher · 08/05/2018 19:31

I have tried a few of their products, but tbh I’ve always found them a bit meh. So not worth the expense for me. I use cheapy Astral cream though and rarely wear makeup, so maybe my opinion shouldn’t be trusted Grin.

BigPinkBall · 08/05/2018 19:34

I love Clinique, mainly because it’s not scented and doesn’t make my skin itch.

I love their range of “chubby stick” make up, the colours suit my pale skin and it’s so easy to apply quickly before work in the morning.

ThenCameTheFools · 08/05/2018 20:11

I am a total convert to the blue-grey quickliner. I.used to buy cheap eyeliner, thinking 'pah, it's only eyeliner!' Never again!
I have used the pressed Superpowder for donkeys years.
Also loved the radiant light (or something) loose powder and the laser repair foundation- both discontinued.

Personally I don't rate the skincare above other similar priced, but will try the TTDO when my current Boots balm runs out.

Worieddd · 08/05/2018 20:14

I quite like Clinique products

Make up remover balm
Lips and lids make up remover
High impact mascara
I always go back to their foundations
DDML/gel

InfiniteSheldon · 08/05/2018 21:12

Clinique moisturisers are the only ones I can use without getting a bad reaction. All about eyes is amazing
