Day/night out outfit for Chester

orenisthenewblack · 08/05/2018 09:06

I live in jeggins and leggins and tunics.
Even for work it's jeggins and a blouse/smart top and cardy.
I'm mid forties, short and size 16 and have been invited out to Chester with a gang of gorgeous 30/40 yrs old ladies. It will involve afternoon tea, cocktails, club. I have no idea what to wear. I am not on the pull so not looking for anything that screams come get me 😂but I don't want to look like a spinster Sunday school teacher either!

Any ideas??

What's your shape like? Pear? Apple? Do you have a smaller bust or a larger one? What part of your body do you like best...apart from your face or hair!

AjasLipstick · 08/05/2018 12:35

Also budget?

Loveagoodbook · 08/05/2018 21:08

I went Chester last weekend, did a meal and cocktail bars, i work a silky cami, black skinny trousers and wedges ☺

orenisthenewblack · 08/05/2018 21:17

High street budget Smile
Figure , fat ass pear, big boobs but I have a waist. So a plus size hour glass if there is such a thing!
I have a wedged sandal, don't know if they're posh enough for a club. I'm too old for this!

oh you sound just like my friend....she always wears nice things and looks great. I'll have a look for things that she'd wear! Hang on.

AjasLipstick · 09/05/2018 00:22

I know my friend has just bought this in black

Wear with heels and some nice jewellry

For day, just wear nice jeans and top...You'll need something nice for tea I suppose....a dress. Hang on.

orenisthenewblack · 09/05/2018 07:57

Ajas, is that link for the cropped jumpsuit? That looks good!

Yes....cropped jumpsuit. It looks amazing on my friend and she sounds very like you figure-wise.

orenisthenewblack · 09/05/2018 09:00

Sounds promising!! I'll order it today

That jumpsuit looks great op! If you want to emphasise your waist get a little belt, IMO a metallic belt and some matching jewellery would look great and a nude heel. If you want to wear it for the day you could team it with some nice sandals and a cropped jacket, no belt or jewellery.

Hope you have a lovely time! You’ll look fab! :)

orenisthenewblack · 09/05/2018 16:20

Let's hope so Smile

Looks lovely.
I dont know if you have been Chester before, we found a amazing 'secret' bar on Saturday called Prohibition ☺

AjasLipstick · 09/05/2018 23:13

Oh great! It will be a great go-to sort of outfit I reckon OP!

orenisthenewblack · 10/05/2018 07:42

I've heard of that one I think! My colleague dressed up Peaky Blinders style to go there!
I've not been out out in Chester for 25 yrs for my sister in law's hen do, but it's a place we go often for a weekend. But that's shopping and eating and a bottle of wine. I love dancing but I really feel out of place in clubs!

It came today and it's too big Sad

I usually opt for their petite range cos I'm such a short ass, but this came in regular or long. It wasn't crop on me Grin

Anyhow, off shopping tomorrow and will look for something similar. Thanks for your help ladies Thanks

Oh lordy! So it's just too long in the leg....you're sure to find something similar OP. Can I advise you look in Coast if you have a Debenhams? They're amazing fitting clothes in my experience, great on a bit of a tummy....modern and flattering though.

orenisthenewblack · 10/05/2018 23:32

ajas that sounds ideal. It wasn't just too long in the leg but also in the back - it was gaping. I could also have an inch off the shoulder. If only I was 5'8" I'd be a size twelve Smile

OP posts:
AjasLipstick · 11/05/2018 00:34

My friend who bought the suit is indeed 5.8 but she is a size sixteen....with big boobs. I didn't realise you were little Grin

orenisthenewblack · 11/05/2018 23:03

So.... bought a pair of ((( gasp))) black patterned trousers - that's brave for me! And wearing it with a black top from the back of the wardrobe. No idea which shoes! But there we go, too late now.
