Comfortable professional summer clothes

Picture the scene: you’re 4’11”, slimmish, lawyer, cycle to work, have regular meetings in London requiring (shudder) train travel. You also made the regrettable decision as a teenager to get arm tattoos Hmm. What are you wearing? I see lovely cool drapey silky cream v necks everywhere, and good quality 7/8th trousers without that polyester look, where are they from? Any other suggestions for cooler professional clothes?

Jigsaw do fantastic 7/8 trousers, but as they are perfect on me at 5’8”, I suspect they will be much too long at 4’11”!

J. Crew also do fab ankle skimmers and I’m pretty sure they do a petite range.

Try Dorothy Perkins petite range for trousers

Boden do a broad range of 7/8 length in petite sizes. I love the look, especially with kitten heels.

Jaeger outlet can be worth a look online. I have a good silk work dress from them which is great for the summer. Fellow lawyer and I feel your pain. For ten years I worked in an office without aircon, which made summer dressing, er, challenging.
