Wrap skirts/dresses, how to not flash my knickers

So I've really jumped on board with the wrap skirt and dress trend. Have bought two wrap skirts and three dresses. I love the look, but feel a bit exposed with the inevitable gust of breeze, or if I walk faster than snail pace. I've tried wearing shorts underneath, but still feel quite exposed. I thought perhaps a short slip, but don't really want to add an extra layer or reveal my granny type slip to the world.
How can I be more dignified, without looking frumpy

That's why I prefer faux wrap. I think you can weight the hem in some way so it's harder for the wind to lift.

Don’t wear any Grin

Or buy a size bigger so more material to wrap around.

Mostly I wear shorts, as I cycle everywhere and also have a few favourite wrap dresses. And I have weighted the hem/corners of a more formal wrap skirt that is in a slightly heavier weave by sewing/inserting some small coins into the hem. I still need to take some care though. Obviously it also depends on how much overlap there is in the fabric.

A well placed safety pin is your friend! So you don’t ruin the look of the flowing wrap don’t pin it right at the edge of the wrap (that way you will still get the flappy style). Or a couple of well placed stitches
