So I have ridiculously fine blonde hair, but a lot of it. I have every curling tong wand device going, but would love to know what products you use that help the curl last longer than lunchtime!

Hairspray before you curl - make sure it's really dry

Old fashioned setting lotion from Boots Superdrug etc. Costs about £1.50. Decant into a spray bottle. Apply liberally.

Ok thank you.

Is your hair naturally curly or are you curling it?

If natural, use gel when it’s wet.

DunkandEgg · 06/05/2018 21:35

Yeah but remember to scrunch out the crunch when using it! Ok, Instagram SOTC and you'll see what I mean.

DunkandEgg · 06/05/2018 21:36

OP, not 'ok'

It helps if you're doing it on second day hair, mine never hold if the hair's freshly washed. Also use a heat protection spray beforehand, and leave the curls to set for an hour or so before you brush them out or pull them apart.

It is ultra poker straight. Tried ghd wand, Tongs. Curl secret, dial a heat , everything.

I have this prob, I researched it and apparently your supposed to pin the curls up when you have tonged it, with Kirby grips I think, then wait for it to cool right down..or as long as possible. A spritz if hairspray then remove pins. If you have long hair with no layers it won't stay for hours and hours as there is too much weight, but may stay just a couple of hours or so. X

I have very fine straight hair too and lots of it.

Successful curled blow dried recently I had in the salon she used a root boosting spray and mousse before blow drying to get some body into my hair then used texturising spray on each section of hair before she curled it. Then sprayed each curl with hairspray before moving on.

I had it done at 10.45 am before a 3pm wedding which was outside and my hair stayed curly despite the wind and still looked pretty wavy and bouncy the next day after I brushed it out too!

I find a strong hold mousse works best for me

I use Umberto Giannini curl jelly

Bananarama12 · 07/05/2018 10:15

Spray with dry shampoo after curling. Keeps mine for days.
