Foundation for brown - Indian skin?

hi all,
I have Indian light brown skin. The closest shade I could find was from body shop. It doesn’t nicely blend into my skin tone, just looks like make up. Where can I find a more suitable foundation? Preferably cruelty free.

Thanks :)

You need to work out your undertones and go from there, I’d imagine you’re quite golden or yellow from what you describe, and that’s not easy to come across in the drugstore. I’m a total foundation junkie! Most of the best shade ranges are in more expensive foundations if you want cruelty free, if you go to a counter you can usually get samples. Always swatch it on your bare face and wait ten mins before committing to the shade, and look at it in natural light (go outside the shop, or at least stand by the window).

Cruelty free with good shade ranges - kiko Milano, cover fx, fenty beauty, bare minerals. Depends on the formula you like.

If you can bear not cruelty free, maybelline fit me matte & poreless has probably the best shade range in the drugstore (only at Superdrug it seems tho)

Oohhh forgot NYX total drop control foundation has a zillion shades and is cruelty free.

Estée Lauder has a huge range for all skin tones. If you go to the counter, they will normally give you a few days worth as a sample to try before you buy. Not sure about it’s animal testing status though.

I'm mixed race with a sallow undertone and Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless has been the best drugstore match for me, they have a good range for yellow undertones. Benefit is also good but more pricey. Or have a look at Sleek which has a good range for mixed to dark skintones,
NYX is good too and has a large range for different skin tones and types.

I'm brown too (mixed white/black/other) and I've had good success with Bare Minerals BarePro liquid foundation. I was initially matched with Honeycomb but decided it was way too yellow, then a different shop matched me with Toffee which was much better. Just visit a counter and they'll do it for you.

Another tip, when you try foundation. Try it on your jawline, just in front of your ear down to your neckline.
That way you'll get a more even match. darker skintones have lots of different shades so it's a case of getting something in the middle that will even everything out without looking fake and then using bronzer/blusher to warmth to the skin.
Findation is a good website to match foundation shades.
