Floaty white top

Can anyone help me... I'm after a white top for hot days. Requirements are that it must be loose fitting (ish) must have some kind of sleeves and needs to be forgiving if I sweat!! So it must be cotton or linen. Any ideas?

Lovely one in H&M but not sure on sweat factor!

applespearsandraspberries · 05/05/2018 13:08

That's nice zoolaa but I would sweat in viscose I think

Viscose is made from wood pulp and can be cooler than cotton. Depends on weight though.

Viscose jersey is not that cool, but the crinkly stuff is. The H&M top looks like It's made out of polyester which is sweaty. As is nylon! Grin

Primark have 100 percent cotton tops that look exactly like the Boden ones. Really comfy!

applespearsandraspberries · 05/05/2018 13:40

Annoyingly I don't have a primary near me Angry

I was thinking about getting this

applespearsandraspberries · 05/05/2018 15:43

Thanks kochico that could be a good one, pity it shows a bit of back but I guess I can live with that!!

H&M have several cotton Broderie anglais tops in white and other colours online.
Secret sales have some linen tops in at the moment.

Kochicoo · 05/05/2018 19:03

Yes apples, it was the bit of back showing which was making me wonder but I suppose I wouldn't have to see it! TK Maxx often have a lot of white cotton and linen tops but I find their website a pain to search through.

UatuTheWatcher · 06/05/2018 02:16

I have that New Look top in black and it is extremely comfortable and looks good.

Nakedavenger74 · 06/05/2018 02:57

I live in this in summer.

Kaftan from Silkfred.

Super floaty, cool and light. It's a light linen. Little vest underneath. Like you are wearing nothing!
I've got them in every colour!

IDismyname · 06/05/2018 03:20

I’ve just ordered a white cotton t shirt top with crochet sleeves from Gap. Can’t do links on my iPad, but if you put white and crochet into their search engine, it should come up. About £16.95.

They have a huge amount on their site, but it’s worth a look. Also discounts. I got 30% off.

teta · 06/05/2018 10:02

Ooh love those tops Nakedavenger . SilkFred is totally new to me. I’ve just ordered two.

applespearsandraspberries · 08/05/2018 13:56

Oh no the gap link doesn't work for me :-(
Dyou think the uniqlo one looks a bit frumpy?

applespearsandraspberries · 08/05/2018 13:57

That's lovely Ella, I think I'd get too hot in that on a really hot day though :-( Is lovely though, maybe I need it anyway?!

Love the kaftan on the model, I'd look horrendous in it though!

Tesco (F&F) have a loose fit white linen blouse for £16. I got the blue one (there were no white ones in my size) and it's sooo cool and comfy Smile

1moreglassplease · 08/05/2018 15:25

Mercury - I bought that top at lunchtime from the Oxford St store, but in the yellow colour. I really wanted the green but they'd all gone.

I would try Monsoon who do lovely floaty cotton/linen tops (I have several). I also got a couple of cotton tops from Tu at Sainsburys so they are worth a look and less than £20.
