What about these - hideous or fine? (for with a skirt)

Rieker sandals

I need straps on top as I step out of everything else. And I walk weirdly and get loads of blisters, so I need comfort - I get blisters even with the most ugly comfort shoes possible! Even these ones rub where the straps touched, but they were some of the better ones I could find in that respect. I normally wear orthotics in my shoes, but in summer, it would be nice to wear sandals on holiday. I'm still looking, but not having much luck!

(be honest!)

I like the overall style but am not keen on the sparkly bits.

WowOoo · 03/05/2018 18:41

I wouldn't wear them, sorry. It's the sole that puts me off..that heel.

Alienspaceship · 03/05/2018 18:42

I like them, they are that elusive combination of stylish and comfortable.

PickleFish · 03/05/2018 18:44

the sparkly bits and sole were my concern too. There's another colourway that is even more sparkly, with bits in the straps too, which I eliminated!

I wish I could find a better sole that I could still walk in, that would stay on, and that wouldn't give me so many blisters/pain.

I like them too

PickleFish · 03/05/2018 18:50

This is what they looked like on

I think the sole bothers me more than the sparkly bits.

I will have to paint my toenails if I'm going to wear sandals! Not much I can do about the colour of my feet though... (legs are no better! Maybe just stick to trousers and boots, however hot)

Madbengalmum · 03/05/2018 18:58

My mother might wear them at 75.

Screamingontheinside · 03/05/2018 19:02

I like them Smile

KnockMeDown · 03/05/2018 19:07

If they are comfortable then go for it. I think they look fine. They may not be the height of fashion, but walking around with a grimace due to uncomfortable shoes is not very attractive either.

auberginesrus · 03/05/2018 19:08

Actually look better on I think. The heel will probably make them more comfortable than something completely flat if you have foot problems.

TroubledLichen · 03/05/2018 19:09

It’s the sole and the heel that really aren’t doing it for me. Sorry but I don’t think they’re nice at all.

PickleFish · 03/05/2018 19:12

I'm sure I'll have grimaces even with these - I need to remember to put plasters on everywhere i can think of before I even start, which will only add to the elegance, I'm sure!

the straps pinch my little toes a bit, but only on one side, so it might have just been the specific pair I tried.

shoe shopping is so hard!

Crunched · 03/05/2018 19:14

I think they look nicer on than off, and the colour will go with everything.

naughtymutha · 03/05/2018 19:18

These are super comfortable and make feet look better (as good as you can make feet look):

Not a bad price either Wink

PickleFish · 03/05/2018 19:22

they look nice but I definitely can't wear ones with a post between the toes - the blisters are horrendous. I twist a bit as I walk, so there is lots of friction, and sometimes even the smallest bit of a seam or a stitch or a slightly less than smooth bit of sole will be enough to blister within a few minutes.

I've not tried that brand before though, good to know to add to my 'comfortable' possibilities list...

How old are you?

I like them but I feel like they are a little ‘old’ for me.

Thebluedog · 03/05/2018 19:24

Look so much better on. I’ve had a few pairs of Reiker boots and they are soooo comfy

PickleFish · 03/05/2018 19:25

i'm early 40s. Not very stylish, but wish I were!

OP posts:
Baileystruffle · 03/05/2018 19:33

I love them but then I love Rieker shoes in general and have loads. (Am in 30s). Search rieker sandals on amaon, they have loads

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 03/05/2018 19:39

They are a tiny bit orthopaedic looking, but I would wear them anyway if they are comfy, and Rieker shoes usually are. I have NEVER found sandals that look great and feel great - it's always a compromise.

Turnitupdrhill · 03/05/2018 19:45

Pikolinos and Moshulu both do lovely soft sandals which don't cause blisters (I've got very delicate skin too).

AppleKatie · 03/05/2018 19:49

Ah but them OP.

You like them, they are comfortable. Job done.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 03/05/2018 19:49

I think you're too young for a style like that.
