Half head or full head balayge

Sorry if this is a weird question but what's the difference between a full or half head balayge. I like to cover all my grey roots if i had a half head would that not be covered?

Or is the balayge just the highlight bit and I'd need to dark bit done separately?

Balayage is freehand highlights. Half head would be from your crown to front hairline, missing out the underneath. You require full/half head balayage and root retouch.

Thank you for your help. I might go for a colour and cut and see how i feel about balayage.
