Yves Rocher - any good?

Are Yves Rocher any good these days? I used to use them years and years ago but switched to Clarins. Was wondering if they are any better/worse? I always thought of them as cheaper - both seem generous with free gifts/samples...

Following this with interest, I’m about to go grocery shopping and near the supermarket is an YR shop so I may happen to pop in & have a nose. I’ll let you know if I try anything !

ThenCameTheFools · 03/05/2018 08:56

They are still fab, go onto their website, it's like a Body Shop set up whereby you always find mega offers (I got one this morning for a free gift worth £60 with purchase)

It is THE worst website in the world, apart from the 4160 perfumery one, it looks like a 4 yr old designed it at the dawn of the interweb, but once you get past that, there is lovely stuff. I have a house full.

(the rich oil moisturiser, or whatever it's called, brown pot, is amazing, chock full of oils and often on BOGOF (you buy the day, get the night free etc)

Where are people finding yves rocher shops? I've never seen one. Are there any in London? Do they still do the brochures?

Branleuse · 03/05/2018 10:49

i love their soaps and their fragrances. I got an incredible orange blossom soap there recently and a rose-oud perfume which is my new favourite

Branleuse · 03/05/2018 10:49

so hard to find a decent feminine oud, so i was delighted

trigger2 · 03/05/2018 12:22

Oops my ‘have a look’ resulted in 3X 400ml shower gels and 1 hydrating toner - mind you was a total of €13 so not too bad ! (Doingreat we’re in Spain).

The shower gels I got were lemon & basil for hubby, and ylang & monoi and almond & orange for me. I was given 2 samples, both Elixir Jueveness (something like that), an essence and a cream. So far I’ve cleansed my face, used the toner and the essence, and wash each hand with a different shower gel lol. Good so far and no skin reactions, I’ll definitely try more of their stuff.

I’ve just had a look on the YR uk website and can’t see all the things from this morning so the range must vary slightly from country to country. Their website is dreadful though but I don’t think I missed them.

Just as well I’m on the hoarders thread Hmm

The shower gels in the Plaisir de Nature range smell so good, I bought some in a store in Switzerland.

OliviaStabler · 03/05/2018 17:36

I love Yves Rocher and have used them for many years. Lots of free samples and gifts when you buy items.

I use their Sérum Végétal range.

littletike · 03/05/2018 17:41

I used a sample sachet of one of their foundations the other day - I think it was the pure light one and it was lovely went it went on. I was gutted it didnt suit my skin.

SirVixofVixHall · 03/05/2018 17:43

I want an orange blossom soap, but there don’t seem to be any soaps at all ?

littlepill · 03/05/2018 17:48

Ooh thanks everyone! Sounds great! Will binge-shop in there for next stash.

Orange blossom soap sounds divine - had forgotten about the Monoi! Lovely. I have def walked past one of their shops before but I can't even remember if it was in the UK...

I once bought a beautiful rose fragrance - think it was called Ottoman Rose? I have one last bottle and have kept it for 18 years! It's beautiful but I bet they don't make it any more Sad

Branleuse that’s one of the shower gels I bought today, it’s lovely

ThenCameTheFools · 03/05/2018 18:59

The essences de neroli perfume is gorgeous as well. Beats Tom Ford and all those other £££££££££s neroli perfumes. Mine was completely free, as they sometimes do a promo where the first thing in your basket is free, no matter how much it costs. Sign up to their website and you'll start receiving (almost) daily offers!

BlancheM · 03/05/2018 19:25

I love it. I used to go shopping there as a teen and rediscovered it online when I was searching for a perfume I had. The freebies are amazing too.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 03/05/2018 20:46

The used to do the most amazing mimosa shower gel. I'm a florist and I get really picky about floral scents, mimosa in particular is a bastard to get right. I stockpiled that stuff. I'd love to smell it again. Thanks

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 03/05/2018 21:14

They have shops here in Germany, itching to go buy some of those delicious sounding shower gels!

trigger2 · 03/05/2018 21:25

LadyOfTheCanyon they have a cotton & mimosa shower gel here in Spain but no international delivery. I wonder if the uk would order it for you ?

LadyOfTheCanyon · 03/05/2018 21:57

Ooh thanks!

trigger2 · 03/05/2018 22:15

Ooh I’ve just found it on the British website- www.yves-rocher.co.uk/control/product/~category_id=6000/~product_id=07043

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 03/05/2018 22:29

The quelques moments d’amour scent is LOVELY . Very femine and I
Might just reorder
Any other reccs? What’s the Monoi like ?

trigger2 · 03/05/2018 22:38

I’ve just bought the monoi shower gel - smells like summer, suntan lotion, I like it ☀️

wizzywig · 03/05/2018 22:39

It still exists? Blast from the past

SirVixofVixHall · 03/05/2018 23:04

Have ordered the mimosa stuff. I love the smell of mimosa. Sad the soap isn’t on the UK site, I wonde if there is any way of getting it ? Might call them tomorrow.
