DIY brow tinting help please

I have a salon brow tint every few weeks. I've been thinking about doing them myself at home instead. Looking for product recommendations, looking for brown dye. I've seen a tinting kit on Amazon but am a bit wary!

I'm using Maybelline tatoo brow. It only lasts 3 days which is great if you make a mistake.
You leave it on for 2 hours and then peel it off. Costs about £12 and you get a lot of use out of one tube.

Oh that sounds an interesting option, will look out for it. Thanks!

I find the tattoo brow a bit of an odd colour - kind of orangy. However it is easy to apply and, for me, lasts about a week. It does dye your skin as well as your hair though.

I prefer the eyelure kit. The dark brown is perfect for me. I leave it on for about 30 mins for a more noticeable and longer lasting result. A bit more of a faff to use than the tattoo brow, but still easy. Beware that the black version has a purplish hue and dyes the skin.

I'd never pay for this service in a beauticians as it is so easy to do at home.

I use Tattoo brow too in dark brown after reading about it on here. I have so few hairs that however lightly professionals dyed them they always looked ridiculous.

I leave tattoo brow on for 10-15 mins and it's just right the right shade and so much cheaper.

Eyebrow mascara is even easier, I use maybelline brow-drama, every day, even if it is the only make-up i have on.

I've actually just posted about refectocil and wondered if anyone has tried?

GinSoakedItchyPony · 02/05/2018 16:20

Thanks all. Good suggestions!

user102938, I was chatting with my friend about this the other day and she recommended Refectocil as she used it in the past. Where have you seen it for sale, I was told to look on Amazon but couldn't find it. (maybe I've spelt it wrong!?).

Posted too soon. User, I found a different brand on Amazon but not the one my friend recommended.

Ok I've just had another look on Amazon and can see Refectocil but it's only the tube, friend told me I need the kit which contains two products, not just the tube.
Confused

You can buy the activator on Amazon too. They do do a kit for it.

Ducksarsehead · 02/05/2018 18:08

I have the recotofil. I bought it and the developer off amazon
You mix a little bit with 10 drops of developer mix it in the glass jar provided and paint it on with the brush. Wait 5 mins and wash it off.
I see no real difference between what ive been doing myself and what my beautician was doing. Though i dont have very overly hd type groomed brows just more defination that what i have naturally.
The entire bundle cost about what i was paying for one dye. I could dye them daily for a year with the amount of product i have now

I second refectocil. Bought the kit on amazon or ebay, can't remember. I was nervous but it's really easy. I wiped it off too soon first time and it didn't really show so just left it on for a bit longer the next time. I've got black brows but dyed red hair and I use the darkest brown colour rather than black.
