Disappointed with Birkenstocks

I've had Birks for years & years & years & had an array of styles. Anyway I saw the adverts for the Madrid Big Buckle & all the nice weather hit & I ordered a pair.

Well, they arrived today & they just look & feel so plasticky & crap. Within minutes I had them repackaged & ready to return.

So disappointing.

Are they the vegan ones? They are non leather. I've had a few and find them as good as the leather ones.

The quality isn't as good as it used to be. My last pair only lasted a couple of years and I wasn't wearing them often.

Definitely leather.

I wonder if anyone can give me an alternative to Birkenstocks? Or I may need to visit their shop & touch all the shoes until I find ones I like.

How disappointing: was thinking of getting a pair myself!

I started having ankle issues and had to stop wearin Birkenstock all summer.

I wear Fit Flops and Wolkys now.

And Birkenstocks occasionally.

I've never got on with Madrid's. They don't seem as comfortable as my ghizas

That style has a big buckle which may contribute to the look and feel.

Interesting - I had them in my amazon basket but won't bother now. I do have a pearl shimmer Gizeh pair I wear loads and some bronze Madrids.

My favourites are an ancient striped pair of Madrids- must be over a decade old.

Think! are good, but I prefer their clogs to the mules.

I have the same schuh ones as theuntamableshrew but in gold - they are fab & so comfy 👍🏻
