A maxi dress for the body I’ve got?

Can you help me shop the ASOS sale (or similar) and spend £30 on a dress for the body I’ve got, that doesn’t look 10 years out of date?

We’re having a party this weekend. Picnic in the garden. Obviously I want to look fab but casual and like I haven’t tried .

All my summer dresses are from my pre-baby days and a fashion lifetime ago.

I’m mid 30s, 5 foot tall, a 12, nice waist and bum from the front/back but sideways on still look 3-4 months pregnant.

So help me MN! Floaty not clingy? A weird cutout or a cold shoulder? Dark florals? I’m up for experimenting so long as I can wear a proper bra underneath, but it’s years since I’ve bought a summer dress and I’m not sure what will suit me out of current styles

I just bought this for a friends birthday party and I really love it, never had anything from ASOS before but I’m pleased with it. Similar figure to you but just a bit taller x

Not exactly the same but lots of friends of a similar age are wearing floral jumpsuits? With white Stan smith type trainers or sandals and a denim jacket or leather biker, would you consider something like that maybe? Looks quite effortless if styled in a laid back way.

Hmm that dress does have a touch of zombie bride about it. It might get a tangled up in your legs if you're knocking about on a picnic blanket.
Won't it be a bit chilly outside next weekend? What about something like this?
If you're short, I think a long maxi dress will swamp you. Something pulled in at the waist? Or if you want something looser, this sort of thing
