Update on my upper eyelid surgery and brow lift - 3 months down the line

The scars are finally starting to fade so I thought I’d give an update (can’t find original thread!)

Had hooded eyes all my life, particularly on one side. Got to early forties and unless I have myself a facelift using my hair, my face looked terrible. It really hit home after a trip to the hairdresser where my hair was down and the lighting very unflattering. I came home and seriously looked into what surgery would be best.

Because my eyebrows were so low I ended up opting for a brow lift and upper eye lid surgery. Because if this I had to have a GA and actually the operation was much bigger than I anticipated. The recovery from it has been longer than I thought in terms of my nerves needing to come back to life in my head! It was very weird but thankfully everything is now back to normal.

Anyhow I’ll add some pics of before, after and now and if anyone wants the surgeons name/prices just PM me. I’m in the south east.

So sorry to hear about your rough times, but glad you are through them, and are now doing something for yourself. I think it's a lovely result.
V impressed with your lashes - I will dig out my ancient eyelash curler!

Juells · 01/05/2018 11:51

I get pissed off with those holier-than-thou people who claim that having plastic surgery isn't going to fix what's wrong with your life. It isn't, but it's going to make you feel a lot better about yourself!

OneWouldHopeSo · 01/05/2018 12:55

It looks very natural - and no scars - I think that's why people were getting confused! Your new photos certainly show a big difference.

SleepFreeZone · 01/05/2018 12:57

There will be a thin white line of a scar onewouldhope but it’s easily covered with concealer now.

Juells · 01/05/2018 14:36

Where's the white scar? Is it from the brow lift?

Hogtini · 01/05/2018 14:40

You look fab, I can definitely see a big difference.

SleepFreeZone · 01/05/2018 15:30

juells if it’s just an eyelid correction then the white scar will normally run along the crease of your eyelids, so pretty much invisible. Because my problem was the sagging side bits on each eye then my scar runs down each side as well. I can hide it with concealer and eventually I suspect it will be pretty invisible. The scars from the brow lift are hidden in my hair. Three in total and they were secured using staples as this apparently makes it heal with less scar tissue.

Actually I’ve got one showing the scar from about a month ago I think.

Not noticeable at all.

Chocolate1984 · 01/05/2018 17:18

I think you look great. There is an obvious difference between before & after

Scabetty · 01/05/2018 17:26

I think the difference is wonderful and very noticeable. I am so pleased you are happy with your decision and that all went well for you.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 01/05/2018 18:29

I'm Hmm at those saying you look no different.
You look great and it's made a big difference, you have beautiful eyes, good on you!

Juells · 01/05/2018 21:48

I was referring to the scar not being noticeable, not that the surgery hadn't made a difference 😁

notmypropername · 01/05/2018 21:57

Can you tell us which surgeon did it? I'm so impressed x

SleepFreeZone · 02/05/2018 07:47

Of course! I don’t want to be accused of advertising so just drop me a PM and I can give his name sbd his website has all the costings.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 02/05/2018 08:58

I wasn't referring to you Juells.

Juells · 02/05/2018 10:46

@Ihopeyourcakeisshit That's OK, I was just clarifying in case the OP thought I was talking about the results rather than the scar Smile

PericardiumOne · 02/05/2018 14:13

I don't have the nerve to go for such a surgery, but it's worked fabulously well for you and also, you have really pretty eyes!

PericardiumOne · 02/05/2018 14:14

(nerve - no pun intended)

charliebear78 · 02/05/2018 16:38

This is something I am considering as one of my lids is very droopy and it is becoming very obvious.
I love wearing eyeliner on my upperlid but because of my droopy eyelids I may as not bother!
I am 40
I am scared of the surgery and also the idea of not being able to wear my contacts or makeup for a while(sooo vain)
I think it looks great and yes you do have nice eyes and now I am off to buy the same mascara as you lol

SleepFreeZone · 02/05/2018 17:04

Grin oh but the results will be worth it if you do! I am loving doing my flicky eyeliner. Couldn’t even do it when I was 18, my eyelids were so heavy even then.

I’m trying to remember which mascara it is. Let me google .... found it!

I remember your original post as my OH had eyelid surgery a week before Christmas. He had it done because they were so drooping it was affecting his vision quite a lot.

His recovery was much quicker, about a week lying down a lot with a cold eye mask thingy on a lot of the time. It wasn't acutely painful, more uncomfortable. He went back later to get the stitches taken out by which time most of the swelling had gone down and he was fine. I think his recovery was quick because they only took away what was medically necessary rather than a cosmetic procedure which would have taken more to "tighten up" the whole area. That's what his surgeon said anyway.

SouthWestmom · 02/05/2018 18:58

Oooh is like PMs with cost and whereabouts?

I'd like upper lid only.

Was going to go for plex and then an absolute horror of a thread on here so changed my mind

Juells · 02/05/2018 19:32

I was originally going to go for just upper eyelid, but the surgeon pointed out that as I was having a general I might as well get upper and lower done. Always glad I did.

As far as I remember I spent a week lying around with witch-hazel-soaked pads on my eyes, then the swelling was gone and I went home with eye-make-up on. Nobody knew a thing - except a male friend who called to the house and remarked that I was looking very 'sparky and bright'.
