Have bought this dress for a June wedding and am looking for a jacket to wear with it in case it’s cold (if warm won’t need one). I tried this one on in the shop (in navy and cream) but I felt it looked a bit mother of the bride. Want something a bit more modern to wear with it and give it a bit of edge. Any suggestions?

How about a fairly tailored knitted jacket.

Or a softer blazer style?

Loving the knitted jacket idea

Something more blazer like would work well. There's some fairly decent slightly edgier ones in the OUTNET at the moment

Personally I think a knitted jacket would look to old fashioned.

Something like this:

smart jersey blazer

I like the blazer idea. What colours do you think would work with the dress if I wanted to do something other than navy or black? Would white work do you think?

Someone actually just posted this pic on another thread. Do you think something like this would work? Am just thinking that it’s something I would then wear again with jeans or trousers.

I think white or cream might be a bit too much of a contrast.

I’d pick out one of the colours of the embroidery. Maybe a bright pink or a blush pink or pale turquoise.

I like navy and bright pink.
