Wedding outfit plus size

Needing an outfit for a fairly posh wedding in a few weeks.

I am size 18 top and 16 on bottom with a spare tyre in the middle. Large boobs that I don't like to have on show. Would like a dress that covers my knees but not floor length.

Happy to pay £100-150 to feel atleast okay on the day!

Starting to panic slightly, any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi Arthur. Probably won't be any use to you but didn't want your post to go unanswered.

Probably would help to know what age bracket you are in.

Have you looked at all the usual suspects? Jacque vert, coast, Debenhams etc.

My DD got a beautiful dress for a wedding on JD Williams she would be size 16 top and 18 bottom. I would recommend you have a look on there.

How about something like this?

Studio 8 has some great dresses in your price range.

Sorry should have said I am age range 35-40.

I have looked at Debenhams, John Lewis, House of Fraser, Next, curvissa, simply be, yours, Scarlett & Jo. I have tried on so many in I am going dress blind.

Maverick I will have a look at Jaques vert and j d Williams.

Bloomers I like that one from ChiChi. I will have a look at the sites you have suggested.

Thank you both.

I've just bought this in a size 18. Yes it's sleeveless, but it's easy to match accessories and cove up colours

I got a couple of Phase 8 dresses for recnrnt weddings that were nice (not this season) but I find that as a similar sounding shape to you that is a good brand.

Also, truly, a pair of Spanx type underwear that goes from bra-line down really does help smooth things - get one that's comfortable not constricting. And try to get tights that stretch high as well and do the same.

House of Fraser has a good selection of brands and styles, their online system works well (including returns), or Debenhams.

And think of accessories too - nice shoes and bag, little bolero cardigan or a wrap for church and late night chill, and confidence, all go a long way to looking fab!

Sorry my links don't seem to be working Confused but if you look at occasion wear on Kaleidoscope web site there are some gorgeous dresses.

GrimDamnFanjo · 30/04/2018 17:27

I've just bought a Bombshell dress, they go up to size 22. It's arriving tomorrow. If you like the style I think they are flattering, particularly the wrap dresses.

sugarbum · 30/04/2018 17:29

Scarlett and Jo maybe? They have a tendency to run big but do weddingy type dresses.

Guardsman18 · 30/04/2018 17:31

I can't believe I'm posting op but I feel your pain.

I have a navy and white dress - I am your size - which I wore for a few hours. It's Jaques Vert. I would love someone to get pleasure from it!

Let me know?

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 30/04/2018 17:32

I have the one on the left, both are from ChiChi Curve. I am a size 22.

I'm older than you though, but it's a lovely dress!

CocoaGin · 30/04/2018 17:33

I've got a couple of wedding outfits from Chesca (John Lewis). They are lovely, and very well made.
