Foundation recommendations - combination skin and fine lines

I'm in the unenviable position of having oily skin on my t-zone, regular blemishes and fine lines all at once.

When I first apply foundation (with some concealer and loose, translucent powder) I look overly matte which I think is ageing. It then quickly sinks into fine lines, emulsifies and then slides off my face altogether by lunchtime.

I've tried higher end products (MAC and Clinique) without much difference. I'm not currently in a position to spend £20+ on foundation so need some sustainable options.

I'm 35, very pale and with cool tones. Currently using a Barry M liquid foundation and primer (the former applied with a flat brush as I can't get on with those spongey, tear drop shaped thingies!). It's seemingly the best of a bad bunch right now.

Can anyone help please?!

Have you tried Max Factor Lasting Performance? Is under 10 pounds, comes in the plastic tube.
I have oily skin and fine lines, I find it suitable.
Although recently with pay money I got myself Laura Mercier, v expensive, is good, but to be honest considering how much cheaper the Max Factor was I wonder why I spent so much in the new one.
I would say gave me good coverage and did not sink too much in my lines, but you need to touch up half way to ensure you still looking well.

I like No7 Stay Perfect foundation, it covers without being heavy. Also, don't necessarily use it all over your face, just where you need it which can stop it being a bit mask like. So I use it where I need it on my t-zone but not my cheeks which don't need the foundation. I don't use primer, but I do dust powder over the top, I use a pressed powder (No7 translucent, although I want to try the airbrush one they do) but I dust it on with a brush so it's a very fine layer.

Estee Lauder!!!!! I'm milky pale with an oily nose and dry everywhere else. Pricey but the best one I've found- have used Nars, Mercier, Bobbi Brown.... they all settled into my crows feet or melted off my nose.

I’ve watched a makeup artists video today who highly recommended L’Oreal Infallible foundation for oily skin. Boots have L’Oreal on 3 for 2 at the moment 😀 I personally haven’t tried but the reviews look fab
