The fox tan

Has anyone heard of/used this? It claims to increase the melanin levels and make you tan faster and darker.

Before I get the inevitable, I want to point out a few things. I'm paler than a pale thing, I never get a tan, never use sunbed and always use spf.

I'm going away this summer and would love a bit of colour when I come back, I'm wondering if this will help. I dont spend much time sunbathing.

Never tried it but I have used Tan Accelerators in the past..... I'm not 100% convinced they DO anything though, I'm a celtic freckler - dark hair , hazel/brown eyes and skin that holds the promise of tanning but fails to deliver.

With all the Tan/Acc you need to use them at leave 5 days before you expose to sun, though 14 days is better.

Thanks 70. The reviews look good but I'm a cynical fucker so I want some real life ones Grin

Just bumping this as I was wondering the same......?

ask for evidence and it looks to be bollocks. the magic ingredients dont get absorbed by the skin and the pack uses the magic word 'helps'. this is the get out on all useless beauty products which allows false claims on the pack.

no evidence for a way to increase melanin production . the only way you can have a tan is with the oompa loompa spray. sorry.

tinygirlsmum · 09/05/2018 14:02

I actually ordered this yesterday 🙈. Have used Lancaster aftersun/tan accelerator in the past and loved it - more for the smell and they way my skin feels after using it. Anything that's going to moisturise my skin and make it feel smoother will make me feel more tanned I think. I'll still be using factor 50 on top of it on holiday though

pigpoglet · 09/05/2018 15:22

I've just bought it , will let you know as I'm pasty !

specialsubject · 09/05/2018 17:34

even the nonsense on the pack says it only works with UV, and sunbathing is obviously a really daft idea for the OP.

buy some cheap moisturiser. Same thing. And a few bottles of real high factor sunscreen.

pigpoglet · 09/05/2018 18:42

@DaanSaaf have you tried p20? I used to be like you , just burnt if I wasn't careful and peeled and back to square one . I started using it about 25 years ago and it was a revelation .. it lets you tan but you don't burn but gives you protection. It's pretty amazing , I actually think it changed my skin permanently because I do tan now albeit a light freckly tan , it's better than being burnt or peeling !

I have actually used it! I first started trying it when we had the few nice days over the bank holiday a few weeks ago. I normally go red and then it just turns white again but I can say I have got a nice tan for the first time ever. Although doesn’t seem to work too well on my face and neck but haven’t had enough hot days to test that out or it could just be me. But have ordered some more to take on holiday with me, Superdrug normally have good deals on otherwise can be quite expensive.
