Vegan ballet pumps: do they exist??

My daughter is in a play at the local theatre and is required to have ballet pumps for the dance scenes. She's vegan and won't wear leather. I've just spent an hour online looking for something suitable and have drawn a blank. The only ones I can find are by Grishko, which are very expensive and are in any case out of stock in her size .
There must be other vegan/vegetarian dancers out there - anyone got any suggestions? Thanks!

The only ones I know of that are available in the UK are Grishko. You say you've checked and they are out of stock in her size - where did you try? I think there are several stockists.

What size does she need? (Ballet shoes come up really small by the way, and you need at least 1 size bigger than normal street shoes).

If all else fails, I distantly know a couple of vegan professional ballet dancers, so could probably get my friend to contact them on your behalf and ask where they source theirs. When do you need them by?

thanks, that's kind. As it's only for a few days for a play (she's not a dancer nor ever likely to be so they won't be used again), I don't want to spend a lot on professional type shoes. She wears an adult 7.

Can you post a picture of the style she needs?

In that case it doesn't really seem worth the expense of buying a new pair, does it?

This is probably a shot in the dark (and of course depends on her own ethics) but would she be prepared to wear previously-owned ballet shoes that aren't vegan? The reason I ask, is you will be able to find some easily (eg. eBay). Would she be able to come to terms with a second hand item in that way if she thinks of them as not belonging to her, but just part of her costume for a short while?

Come to think of it - you never know, you might find a second hand pair of the Grishko vegan ones on eBay.

Is it pointe shoes she needs or split sole unshaped soft pumps? With or without ribbons?

thanks all for help. My daughter has agreed that given the difficulty she will accept 2nd hand shoes, and I've managed to locate a pair on ebay. Keeping my fingers crossed they'll fit!
