Is hairspray wrecking my hair

I have really thick wavy hair but in fairly good condition and I try hard to use no 'cone/sulphate products and minimise hear styling. Over the past fortnight it has suddenly become dry and coarse feeling. The only new thing I've introduced is that having found an amazing hairspray in my M&S advent calendar & become a hairspray fan. The freebie ran out so I just bought a cheaper one from Boots. Could it be that? Surely hairspray can't do any harm, can it?! Hmm

Rinse your hair with cider vinager. You may have an alcaline build up in your hair.

Oh god yes it can I'm afraid high concentration of alcohol which is very drying - should only be used occasionally and not at all if following curly girl regime.

Gah. I had no idea! The freebie one didn't seem to have any negative effect. Will go have a google and check the ingredients. Really annoying as it was actually keeping my hair in a nice, bouncy wavy style Confused

Okay so it's main ingredient is alcohol so clearly it was an accumulative effect rather than just me switching brands. My hair feels so coarse - like a Brillo pad - especially at the ends. Hoping I haven't don't proper long lasting damage. Sad
