What do you wear for corporate dress down Friday?

My new job has dress down Fridays, thankfully I've had meetings each Friday so far so been in corporate dress, but I don't know where to start with Fridays moving forward.

My office is populated by young tiny fashionable things with a penchant for leather skirts and tailoring.

In my normal life I'm a pregnant mum of 2 leaning towards the hippy side of scruffy. I pretty much live in Dr Martens.

Can anyone recommend some nice simple basics to get me through a Friday?

Normally I'm a pear, 5ft. I'm pregnant so currently a melon.

We have corporate dress down. People wear all kind of things, but I'd say a safe look if you still want to be smart is skinny jeans, a tucked in t-shirt or top, a blazer and ankle boots.

skinny black or blue jeans, nice shoes - smart pumps or tan sandals for summer, and a tshirt or shirt tucked in. Keep a smart-ish jacket at the office (blazer or cropped jacket) for ad-hoc corporate meetings.

Zara is the best place for work wear - a couple of tops from there will keep you going

a tucked in t-shirt or top

When pregnant?

OP for now I'd get 2 maternity dresses in fairly neutral colours (navy or black or grey) and alternate them. Or just stick to your corporate dress, I know a few people who CBA with dress down Friday and when pregnant you want to get away with as few clothes as possible.

How dress down is dress down? Is denim allowed? If so, jeans and a smarter top. In the cooler months I quite like a wool a-line skirt and jumper plus boots. In summer it will probably be ruched or Aline cotton skirt plus top plus sandals.
But, as you are pregnant I’d stick with some maternity jersey dresses for now

My work does dress down fridays. Everybody agonised over it when they first did it. Nobody notices now what anybody wears.

Myself - I don't bother - I have a set of work clothes and I just wear those - I don't mind being in a suit or pencil skirt and blouse when everybody else is dressed down - but I do mind a client turning up when I am in my scruffs! Happened to me twice and I swore not to let it happen again.

My colleauges wear all sorts - dresses, t shirts, jeans etc - never seen a track suit though!

If pregnant I would wear maternity jeans, ballet flats and a loose, floaty top. M&S do a good selection of sleeveless tops which are quite long in the body and can be worn tucked in or hanging out. Unless you’re 8 months gone you could probably get a couple in a larger size than you would normally wear to go with maternity jeans.

Jeans seem ok but it's mostly admin that wear them, fee earners seem to be much smarter. I wonder if it's because most of them go out after work on a Friday.

I have a load of maternity clothes (this is DC3) but they were all bought for comfort.

I'll have a look for some tunics and black jeggings. Will need some new footwear! Maybe plain black trainers?

I’d wear skinny maternity jeans in indigo/or beige chinos and a blue striped shirt open at the collar. Add a necklace and tie hair in a ponytail.

In my last job, people wore jeans and a tshirt. Management tended to wear jeans and a shirt. Some of them dressed in quite staid clothing and you just knew they were terribly uncomfortable. Mind you, this was a corporate head office where they often sent dos and don’ts of what constituted casual and business attire and thought they were very progressive when they decided a tie was optional.

Topshop have great maternity skinny jeans. They are under the bump and really comfy. I had them in blue, grey and leather look black that saw me through my pregnancy. Wear with some long line tops or tunics and ankle boots or brogue type shoes. That might be reasonably smart enough
