Sad about my hair!

Had a colour appointment today. I came in with a light ash brown/dark blonde colour and wanted to be evened out and get my roots blended in.

Went to a Toni and guy and had the most senior colour technician do my hair. I liked my general colour so he was only going to colour my roots and any uneven patches. He was lovely but I have come out with essentially dark, warm brown hair. By evening me out, he just darkened everything which isn’t what I wanted.

In the sunlight it looks like a warm mid chocolate brown - which annoys me more as it was a cool tone before.

I guess I’m just annoyed as I’ll have to lighten my hair with bleach to get it back to how it was before. I was enjoying my lighter hair for the nicer weather and now I’m darkSad

It might fade a bit, but really you have to go back to the salon and explain it's not at all what you wanted. Hopefully they will rectify it for you.

Oh no :( do you feel confident to call and explain? They should help you xx

I will never use that hairdresser again. They completely fucked my hair up.

ThanksThanksThanks

I had a v disappointing colour experience in Toni and Guy too. Totally not the colour we discussed. Sorry OP.

I would definitely go back to them and explain you’re not happy with what the stylist did. I’d do that whatever I’d paid for it. I’m sure they’d rather try to rectify it than have you unhappy

This was exactly me today!!

I wanted a colour that would even put my two tone. It's near black Sad

I feel for you

shakenandangry · 26/04/2018 21:04

Oh no IveGotNoClothes! both of us with ruined hair thenSad are you going to keep it or lighten it?

I don’t really suit warm hair, let alone warm dark hair. It looks like I did it myself with box dye, it looks that off on me!

I know I can go back to him, but the only way he can take me back to my original colour is with bleach as you can’t really ashen warm, coppery tones with just colour right? My hair is a bit damaged so I don’t want to unnecessarily bleach it. He used a ‘quasi’ colour so I’m hoping it will fade if I rigorously wash it, and then thinking I’ll try to lighten it again in 6-8 weeks to protect my hair. I’m not really sure what else he’d be able to do without lightening it as it’s that much darker than before Angry

ColourB4 removes dark hair dye without damaging hair, salons use something similar.

I had nightmare with Toni and Guy too. I was offered a free haircut, was told it would be not too different from my length. Ended up with a mullet.

The hairdresser was training through their academy and had to do all the cuts in a book, so just lied to me to make sure she ticked the mullet box. Dreadful, grown back now but I'd never use them again.

Lentilbaby · 26/04/2018 23:38

I had a bad colour experience with Toni and Guy too. I went back and they did everything they could to help but my hair was totally ruined (over bleached). I would definitely go back and insist they put it right. They should give you a free Olaplex treatment at the very least to maintain some good condition.
