Last year I bought 2 pairs of the Hush cropped harem trousers (black and khaki) but while I loved them each time I tried them on, I could never quite manage to style a full outfit so they were resigned to kicking around the house in.

Summer is coming and I really want to wear them this year and I was hoping somebody could give me ideas for how to style them? I tried Pinterest but had no luck. I am almost 42 41, average height, size 8 but with small boobs.

Anyone else have something hiding in the wardrobe you want to feel glad you bought again?

They seem to style them with a little fitted vest or t-shirt, cropped jacket (or a cropped cardie would work) and trainers or birkenstocks.

Or a floaty top might work something like this (not suggesting you spend that much but that kind of concept)

I have some fashiony joggers, not hush ones but similar, and have the same issue. In theory they look nice with a t-shirt and sandals but I can't quite get my head round it. They have done sterling service as blobbing around the house pants :o

It seems to need to be close fitting but because of the weird waistband is it awkward to get the right length? Maybe I should tuck it in. I reckon if I wear them outside the house one of my DCs is guaranteed to ask why I am going out in my jammies Blush

And shoes are tricky. Converse type made my feet look like flippers as I have none existent calves but sandals made it start looking a bit fancy dress Hmm

I have the cropped harems in black and khaki too. On top I wear hip length t shirts, H&M do a very nice relaxed fit viscose one in a multitude of colours. Also a faded denim jacket. I wear Birkies or slip on Vans.

I have the full length harems and am tucking in thin cami style tops or delicate sleeveless tops. I plan to wear mine with a denim jacket when chilly. You could also wear with a fine knit (but not baggy).

Ellapaella · 25/04/2018 18:24

I'd probably stick with flip flops or thin strapped sandals on feet for cropped ones, to be honest.

A few ideas here

Thanks for the blog link mulberry. Slip on vans are a good call but I've had a look and am not mad keen on the colours. I guess other places will do a similar style? I tried them with my trusty sketchers I use for walking holidays but they looked mega frumpy. Hip length tshirt is exactly what I need McWeedie - I will have a wade through the H&M website. Am too cold for cami tips but a fine knit jumper would be nice. Just thenjasue of trying to find one that isn't too loose... Thanks all!
