What to do with nail varnish I am not using?

I have loads of nail varnish that I am never going to use because I don't suit the colours and I don't wear it that often. It is really good stuff that has either never been used or used once or twice. It is all Chanel, OPI and other good brands.

What can I do with it other than throw it which would be a massive waste.

Assuming you don't have people to give it to:
Put on verrucas/ warts
Use as a marker to be able identify stuff as yours
Dip thread in it to help thread a needle
Dip laces in to stop fraying.
Do some art with it.

Does anyone find that Nail varnish 'goes off' after about a year? Doesn't last as long. I always throw last years stuff out.

Put them on eBay!

Offer it to a local refuge or housing scheme? I work in a housing project for 16-25 year olds and donations are always welcome. Stiff like nail polish is low on the shopping list if you're living on £57 a week Smile

My local charity shop takes cosmetics, even opened.

I "laquered" some matchboxes once so they looked pretty beside candles

Friends' children - assuming they're allowed to have occasional nail painting?

fearfultrill · 24/04/2018 12:17

We put colour coded blobs on keys to identity back door, front door, garage door, utility door etc

Aridane · 24/04/2018 13:22

though that's not really going to use up loads of nail polish...

UsernameTaken2 · 24/04/2018 14:58

If they're expensive brands I would eBay them. If not I'd give them to a charity shop

UsernameTaken2 · 24/04/2018 15:00

Just read that back and it sounds as though I only give rubbish to charity shops. (That's not what I intended it to mean)
If you don't want to eBay them, then I would give them to a charity shop

Pebble painting - we donate our old ones to the school for this.

Or donate to nearest care home - IME older ladies in care homes often love to have their nails done.
