Vit C serum recommendations

tootstastic · 22/04/2018 20:14

I keep reading that I should be using vit C serum, but I've also read that it has to be over 20% to make a real difference.

Any recommendations of over 20% ones would be very much appreciated.

I use the ordinary vitamin c cream, it's inexpensive and 23% so over the 20%. Just smear it gently around your face otherwise it pills up into blobs. I think other people are put off by that but once you get the hang of it, it's fine. I put it on over the ordinary buffet serum every other night as its quite strong.

Thanks MrsJamin, I have the buffet serum too! The ordinary is definitely in my price range, so it's worth me giving this a go.

Just searched and I see the ordinary have a 30% one too. Could that be too strong?

I think that would be too strong for me - sometimes if I get the 23% one too near my eyes, they sting a little. I have sensitive skin though! What else do you have from the ordinary? I might get the caffeine one next, I've got the retinol 2% in squalene which is good. I was dubious it was having an effect but now I'm using them religiously, I'm seeing and feeling the effects.

Thanks, in that case I'm probably better sticking to the one you have. I've also got the ordinary's hyalauronic acid, retinol 2% and primer. I must say their price tags are refreshing compared with most specialist skincare I've tried.
