Did Nivea Post Shave Balm work as a primer, for you?

I put it underneath my double wear foundation today and within two hours, my foundation now looks patchy and is coming off!

Did it work negatively for anyone else?

This isn't the first time I've tried it. It did the same thing last time.

I thought it would keep my make up on for longer Sad

No, it gave me spots. I never get spots Sad. I ditched it and the nearly full bottle is still sitting unused in the bathroom cupboard.

It was worse than useless for me. I also tried it under my ELDW, which usually doesn't budge for love nor money, and my face was oil slick greasy within an hour. Maybe it's better for people with dry skin?

ChipperChap · 22/04/2018 20:42

Thanks ladies, I agree it didn't help my usually fine skin and made my make up slip off!

I have combination skin, I think? I get quite dry. But I get the odd blemish Confused Don't get oily at all really

It was awful for me too, it made my already dry skin even drier and made no difference as a primer.

Luckily I'd just nicked some off DP so it's not been wasted.

DuchyDuke · 22/04/2018 22:33

It used to but not any more. I have oily skin and most primers don’t work. For me using spf before make up holds the make up together.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 22/04/2018 22:46

No - there's a big breakdown of why it's not great somewhere. The ingredients aren't the best.

I haven't heard of anyone who has had good results in real life, to be honest.

TacoFlavouredKisses · 22/04/2018 22:50

Ohh I wish I'd read this before I bought it this week - it did nothing for me and I've broken out in unusual jawline spots Sad

I use Lanacane (anti chafing gel, you can get it from Amazon) as a dupe for Smashbox primer which I used for years and years. Cannot tell the difference and a fraction of the price. I always use it under my EL Double Wear.

Did absolutely nothing for me. I passed it onto DH.
