Loafers-to tassle or not tassle?

I'm thinking of getting a pair of loafers, but unsure whether to get a pair with a tassle or not? My friend thinks tassle's are hideous, will I be committing a fashion faux pas?
(I'll buy what I want obviously, but just wondering if the tassle is an issue for some?)

Personal taste and I’m no fashion guru but I prefer without. Tassled loafers remind me of my late lovely mum! I think it makes them verge into moccasin territory

No tassel for me unless you are 80+ then tassel to your heart's content ;)
