Nail varnish without the nasties.

Apparently, there is nail varnish out there which is better for my nails so when I forget to take it off my toes, they will not discolour to the same degree Anyone know of any makes please? And is it any good?TIA.

I haven't tried it, but saw some "free from nasties" stuff in Holland and Barrett a few weeks ago

A decent base coat will prevent discolouration!

Most polishes have been free from any “nasties” for years. It’s like supermarkets labelling carrots as “now vegan”.

Consumers like it like that. It gives them the warm fuzzies that their polish is formaldehyde free. It’s a gas so wouldn’t be in polish anyway.

Little Ondine is good. It's made of resin so doesn't smell, goes on nicely and dries unbelievably quickly. It peels off so you don't need nail varnish remover. The only trouble is that it doesn't last that long, but even then it's so easy to peel off and reapply...

Serious bone head science. Look up formaldehyde in nail varnish and see why the 'nasties' thing is playing people for fool s.

If you paint yourself with plastic (and I do sometim es) there will be extra chemicals.

I love wearing the brightest colours possible on my toes and have never had discolouration in the last 20 years.

Another vote for Little Ondine!

I'm going to check out little ondine because something in polish or remover causes my nails to start to lift from the nail bed every time I wear it. Whatever it is that causes this is definitely 'nasty' where my nails are concerned. No need for the snippy comments.

I have no bloody nails.
I wear vinyl gloves at work and wash my hands in crappy NHS soap 40+ times a day then everything else at home.

If my nails are lucky , I buff them.

The thing with the Dr's Remedy stuff, by the looks of it, is that you have to use nail varnish remover to get it off. Which contains all the sorts of 'nasties' the polish is trying to avoid. I prefer the sound of the peel-off Little Ondine for that reason.

Peel off sounds worth a go... FatBalls that's interesting... I lost my big toe nail about a year ago, sounded similar, and I really couldn't remember it having any kind of trauma. Thanks for the link Bionic. 70 I don't know, just thought there had to be something better for me out there. Thanks for all the input and suggestions everyone.
