Bunion friendly sandals that i can walk in

hangry24seven · 21/04/2018 15:54

Hi
Im looking for sandals that work with dresses as well as jeans for leisure and work. Budget £120
The challenge is that my feet are wide across the toes and bunion, needibg ee width but my ankles and heels are skinny and my feet are boney. I cant do high heels and i walk a lot. I need sabdals that hold my foot and feel supportive. I have low arches to boot!
Id like something that has a strap or some material that hides the bunion. No pointy shoes!
Have already checked simply be jd williams new look and asos. M and s and clarkes are not wide enough.

Thank you!

I have pretty much the same issues as you! I’m only starting to have a look now but fashionworld and Debenhams (both online) have a big selection of wide fit, Next sometimes aren’t too bad as well

SheSparkles · 21/04/2018 17:36

gaborshoes.co.uk have some lovely ones which look decent quality

lulu12345 · 21/04/2018 17:42

I’ve got bunions and have been wearing these ones from office for he last few years..

V comfortable but also cover up the bunions and look good

bunbunny · 21/04/2018 18:00

Hotter have some wide fitting sandals some of which have adjustable heels... You have to dig through their styles - there are some shocking bad grannyish things but there are a few that are ok - i have some boots and sandals from them that are comfy.

Best sandals I have have - having seen them recommended on mn a lot and given them a go on the strength of this - Teva sandals. Style I have is Tirra - blisfully comfortable. Now have several pairs...

she thank you i will check out next. Have tried fashion world and debenhams before. Fashion world werent supportive enough for me though very wide. I will look at gabor, thanks.

lulu thank you i have just ordered one though concerned about dye transfer..

bun i have just ordered 2 pairs of teva. Thank you. Yes hotter style is bot really suitable to how i dress.. im 32 and their styles are so so much older. But i will have a look again.

I know you said no clarks BUT..I have wide feet and these are amazingly comfy
I actually wear the standard fit in these so the wide is very wide.

hangry24seven · 21/04/2018 19:30

I’ve just ordered these

hangry24seven · 21/04/2018 19:36

shesparkles oooh i was eyeing them! They look good in covering the bunion, soft leather and look modern not orthopaedic. They'd look good for work or casual jeans trousers, wide cropped trousers or dresses and skirts.

Fly are comfy. I've got a pair in the "Tram" style

Lymmmummy · 21/04/2018 19:48

I have exactly the same issue - so you have my utmost sympathy😄

I got a nice pair of sketchers wedge sandals - they were quite trendy and the material was suede so quite stretchy - most sketchers are a bit ugly ting but if you look through all of the collections they do they have some ok ones

hangry24seven · 21/04/2018 19:59

Thank you Pennina and Lymmmummy Smile i will check them out.

@Pennina, these Fly Tram look great, loads of colours

hangry24seven · 21/04/2018 20:46

wonder if the fly trams would slip off (but i guess only way of knowing is to try them on).

Pennina · 21/04/2018 22:19

They do slip off a bit, need to have them snugly done up so foot doesn't slide down and loosen heel strap. The leather is lovely and soft though. Btw I've also previously had success with m&s sandals with a bit of a platform too.

TheClitterati · 21/04/2018 23:19

Check out wolkyshop.co.uk.

Fantastic shoes/sandals, well designed, lots of colours and styles.

I can walk all week in these:

Love these;

Might be my next purchase:

hangry24seven · 22/04/2018 06:42

pennina thanks, ill have a look in m&s again and try the platform ones.

theclitterati i had never heard of that brand before so thank you for the suggestions. I quite like the one in the second link because it looks dressier but the first link looks very comfortable and holds on to the foot properly. I like that it can be adjusted as my feet are narrow at the heels. Thanks again.

I need sandals like these, and also available in a size 9! Sad

TheClitterati · 22/04/2018 08:23

They are Dutch.

Yes that one is very adjustable all over. I'm
Excited I can wear them again now.

TheClitterati · 22/04/2018 08:24

Bike most of the Wolkys go up to 43 or 44. I'm a 9/43.

BikeRunSki · 22/04/2018 08:28

Wolky Shop looks interesting cliterati. And they go beyond my massive size!

BikeRunSki · 22/04/2018 08:28

X post!

TheClitterati · 22/04/2018 08:58

They are pricy. But they are so wonderful I can't tell you. I have 5 pairs. GrinBlush

So nice to have "proper choice for my big feet.

A German friend told me about them.

WildwestWind · 22/04/2018 09:07

I stick to Gabor and M&S wide fit. Usually can find something I like.

SheSparkles · 26/04/2018 10:19

My Gabor sandals came yesterday and they fit perfectly-no mean feat😉. I’m going to get another pair in the other colour!
