I've never bought clothes from whistles before, is it worth the price tag? Looking to "up my game" style wise!!

I bought a winter coat from Debenhams at half price just before Christmas I bought it on a one day sale and thought it too good to miss. Put it on the next day and every day through the Winter. Loved it. Would have paid full price for it and am now hooked on Whistles.

Depends they do so much polyester and viscose which I refuse to pay the prices they charge. Their linen trousers, cotton T-shirts, denim and bags are well made.

nevereverhaveieverfeltsolow · 21/04/2018 15:14

Oh I definitely would steer clear of the viscose of polyester - I don't believe in paying money for that

One of the Duchess of Cambridge's favourite clothing stores I think.

taytotayto111 · 21/04/2018 16:10

My friend adores the place and shops there all the time, she’s fussy so they must be good.

Floisme · 21/04/2018 16:49

I used to be a big fan and I still like the way the clothes are cut. I think they have that Sofia Coppola low key, cool, thing absolutely nailed. But I've sacked them because the quality was so poor, especially considering their prices.

wizardswife79 · 21/04/2018 16:51

I’ve had a few bits I wasn’t especially pleased with the quality, given the prices.

mrscampbellblackreturns · 21/04/2018 16:54

Quality is shocking nowadays in whistles. I don't shop there any more but used to quite like it.

HeyDolly · 21/04/2018 17:00

I used to love it a few years ago but the prices keep rising whilst the quality keeps declining so I don’t shop there so much anymore

Notcontent · 21/04/2018 17:09

I agree with the other comments. I like the look of the clothes but the quality is not great. You have to be quite selective and ideally buy on sale!

Ypsilanti · 21/04/2018 17:30

Another one who used to buy loads from Whistles but thinks the quality has taken a nosedive. Used to be largely natural fibres, now they’re mainly artificial, and poor quality artificial at that. £150 for a flimsy polyester dress? Taking the piss.

Their leather bags are still good quality, though I’d never pay full price.

BlueEyedWonder · 21/04/2018 17:51

I like their style.
Like others say, shop selectively and stick to the things they do well (and the sales)
I buy t-shirts, sweatshirts, bags, scarves and knits (shoes in the sale)

Judydreamsofhorses · 21/04/2018 20:13

I buy a lot from Whistles, but usually in the sale or when they do a discount code. Agree the prices can be very high. Their knitwear is good for me - there’s a jumper they do every year in different colour ways which I absolutely love - and I also like their trousers and skirts. They tend to do variations on the same thing in some items, so if it works for you then it’s an easy buy. My leather biker jacket is one of my best ever buys, but again, it was bought with a 25% off code, plus I had John Lewis vouchers to use.
