'Invisible socks' for brogues and trainers

As the weather has changed and I am no longer in opaque tights & normal socks. I am trying to find those 'invisible socks' or 'trainer liners'.
I have tried quite a few, but they all end up scrunched in the bottom of my shoes which is not great as I walk a fair bit at work.
Has anyone found some that actually stay put?

Unfortunately, no - I gave up and now wear white ankle sports socks Blush

Thishatisnotmine · 20/04/2018 11:55

I bought some basic Asos ones last year, they come up to below my ankle bone not visible wearing brogues or trainers. They stay put.

AnyFucker · 20/04/2018 11:57

Next do some with grippy bits to stop them slipping

Most standard trainer socks come too high

HildaZelda · 20/04/2018 11:58

These ones from Primark are great. I'm a size 3/4 and they're the only ones I can find that don't move around on me. Most of them come up too high as well and can sometimes be seen above the trainers, but these ones come just under the ankle bone.

Pop socks? Not really that ideal in summer I agree but give a better look if you get low denier ones.

ilovecherries · 20/04/2018 13:01

I've had everything from primark to falke. Not one worked. I hate them :(

CrumbliestFlakiest · 20/04/2018 13:03

These are surely the holy grail! Primark ones are ok but still fall off your heel i find. Did pop socks for a while but the tight bit round your knees gets uncomfortable and they are not the most attractive

RatOnnaStick · 20/04/2018 13:04

The best I found were from Sainsbury's, only because the toe part is bigger so there less strain on the heel. Out of 6 pairs 3 stay put for a while, the others scrunch in minutes.

IWouldLikeToKnow · 20/04/2018 13:06

I got primark ones (penny's in Ireland) in a pack of 7 I think. They are the ones that just come above your trainers/shoes. The colours are a mix of beige and nudes so are fairly invisible. I find they stay up pretty well.

Thegirlisnotright · 20/04/2018 13:46

I bought some called ‘sneaker liners’ in H&M which are good. They would still be visible in converse though, but fine for brogues and sports trainers.

Thegirlisnotright · 20/04/2018 13:49

Online they are called trainer socks and are 3 for £6.99. They are lower than ankle length trainer socks though and have elastic on the heel

Dancergirl · 20/04/2018 13:54

I find no socks at all more comfortable.

Speedy85 · 20/04/2018 13:55

I've had some from M&S which have stayed put well.

ArkAtEee · 20/04/2018 13:58

I have small feet and Falke work for me. M&S are supposed to be good. I think you will just have to try several pairs and see which is best for your foot shape.

FauxFox · 20/04/2018 13:59

Converse brand socks (via TK Maxx) are perfect for wearing with converse-shape shoes.

HeatedCatFurniture · 20/04/2018 14:00

I have some men's Converse "Made for Chucks" ones which are brilliant. Unfortunately I got them in TK Maxx and haven't seen them anywhere since.

Oliphantintheroom · 20/04/2018 14:02

M&S are the best but a bit expensive if you want a few pairs
The primark sports ones pictures above are good but you have to make sure to get these ones and not the ballet pump liners

waddlewhisky81 · 20/04/2018 14:02

Skechers are the way forward, the only ones I've found that grip well and have a gel bit on back of heel to stop rubbing

Standstilling · 20/04/2018 14:03

Primark laser cut nude ones are the only ones I have that reliably stay put all day.

combatbarbie · 20/04/2018 14:04

I like the asda and Primark ones

Polly1977 · 20/04/2018 14:09

Sainsbury’s do some great ones. They are flesh coloured and only cover your sole, toes and heel. They also have little squishy gel strips at the heel to make them stay on. They r totally invisible when u have shoes/trainers on. I have big feet (size 8) and I wore them all summer without any probs last year!

Sheec trainer socks are the only ones I've found which a) stay on my big feet (they have silicone pads that keep them in place) and b) don't get a hole in the toe after one wear: www.amazon.co.uk/Show-Non-Slip-Casual-Socks/dp/B00P1NYFNY/ref=pd_sim_193_1?_encoding=UTF8&tag=mumsnetforum-21&refRID=4BFZBXFJ2NYNTPNB4ZKJ

The come in two different sizes, colours/neutrals as well as black and white, and they do an 'ultra' version which is more low-cut for ballet shoes etc.

I wasted so much money on branded trainer socks which fall off or are too tight and now I don't buy anything else.

TantricTwist · 20/04/2018 15:20

The primark ones are great, they have 2 kinds and I love both. I bought them in bulk yesterday in white and black.

TantricTwist · 20/04/2018 15:21

I have the Skechers ones which are good but I actually prefer the ones Primark brought out this year.
