Will we all be wearing long dresses and skinny jeans this summer?

Or is just M&S losing it as per usual?

I’ve been getting the oh polly one too, I assumed as I had been looking at clothes, interesting we got the same one.

As a pp said, it is a fashion thing again now, not just M&S that are doing it

Agree with massi it's a traditional Asian look. I have a long plain jersey jumper from Zara. It's soo soo lovely. Wear with black culottes and sparkly flats and you da bomb Grin

Ha! I wore old tea dresses with cords in 1978/9 when I was 15. Mind you- I also wore me Uncle Walter's silk pyjamas with ans Edwardian nurses belt. Those were the days Grin

I have a friend who has been wearing this look for years and she manages to look fantastic in it. But she manages to look fantastic in everything so maybe she doesn't count. And she'd never wear that pallid nightie with jeans - only a dress so gorgeous it takes you all day to realise she's also wearing jeans for some odd reason.

I've had that oh Polly advert too! Has she got a dislocated hip, poor soul?

MissWilmottsGhost · 20/04/2018 07:54

I like dress over trousers/leggings IDGF that the rest of MN seem to hate it

Not that one though Shock

There are fashion things. Then there is M&S, the two are mutually exclusive it seems.

Poor Polly is developing a nasty case of thrush.

KriticalSoul · 20/04/2018 21:42

I wear swing dresses and leggings ALL the time.. but jeans under dresses? nope.

MulberryPeony · 20/04/2018 22:07

I wore skinny jeans under a short kimono dress a few weeks back and it looked okay. That dress however... it’s really missing a full length buttoned up coat over the top to hide it.

PoorYorick · 20/04/2018 22:14

I like the first Desi style pic with the pink dress...that's really nice. I like dress over jeans/trousers but not usually if the dress is long. I don't like the second one though. The slit is so high that the dress obviously needs something under it, but it's so light and floaty that it doesn't seem right with jeans. The drapey pink dress works, plus that colour is beautiful.
