How do I actually apply my retinol 0.2?

My "The Ordinary" retinol 0.2 in squalane order arrived today and I feel slightly intimidated by the packaging. It has a pipette dropper type thingy Confused How much should I be using at a time? And do I just apply with fingertips or should I be using cotton wool? Sorry for being so clueless but all the warnings made me panic I would use too much Shock

I use around 4-5 drops. Drop into my hand, then apply with fingers/hands.

I wouldn’t while it’s sunny tomorrow as retinol + sunlight can cause pigmentation issues. I usually apply mine with light tapping motions after double-cleansing my face at night. I find the double-cleanse is needed as it can get quite drying.

Need to use spf the next morning.

Oh help. I need to google double cleanse.. I am in Scotland so no sun here but I do have SPF 50 moisturiser if that's okay? Had planned to put it on after taking my make up off with a hot cloth cleanser then put my night cream on top? Thanks everyone.

You need to wait 30 mins after applying the retinol / before applying any other product (moisturisers / serums etc). Retinol works best this way. And yes to SPF 50 on face during the day.

I put on just at night, 2 or 3 drops. Just rub it gently in.

You must always use spf the day after using retinol, whatever the weather
